As far as I know they are just physical connector protocols and sometimes interchangeable. Lacking of M.2 connector is the sole reason I didnt go for MI VIII. Put a 512G SSD on MB and save the trouble mounting SSD elsewhere with all the cable building SFF is a blessing.
There was a build that has Predator on side brackets but some trimming and cutting need to be done. I personally dont think it is a good idea to fit Predator in M1.
I RMAed my SF600 few weeks ago, they shipped me a new one before I shiped the defect one back to them.
At first I thought it has coil whine too, but then I realized it comes from the motherboard. For me the SF600 is loud but it is mainly from the fan.
So I wasn't really happy with the noise of my NCASE M1 at idle, but I am sure I am just being anal, I literally put my ear right next to the case to catch any noise.
There was some vibration noise and coil whine, I was trying to locate the component at fault but after couple of days fighting I...
My replacement SF600 arrived yesterday and so far so good. The fan doenst give weird noise like the previous one. Both units give out slight high pitch coil noise on idle though, but still I am not 100% sure it is the PSU, I just never heard of the noise with silverstone.
To give Corsiar its...
I am using the same graphic card and I have a 240 radiator as intake as well as two 120mm fans in the bottom to force feed fresh air to the GPU.
The recycling waste heat problem is more severe than I thought. Even though I have 4 intake fans to create positive pressure, the hot air coming out...
I have no idea, but I guess it is quite warm inside Ncase M1 as the fan is on most of the time.
The noise started to kick in few minutes in Witcher 3 and after playing for an hour then quit the game it was very audible because other fans quiet down. The case of the PSU was just little warm...
So it looks like I'll have to RMA my SF600 already. The fan will give out vibration noise when it start spinning fast. Imagine the noise that the harddrive will give when it is reading/writing, very distracting.
I also received my SF600 today.
I am impressed with the overall packaging, better than Silverstone.
The 24pin atx and the 8 pin motherboard cable are exactly the same length as my Silverstone 45sf-g. I thought it would be longer.
However the power inlet on SF600 is upside down compared to...
I was calling Corsair CS for one of my orders and I randomly clicked into the SF600 product page and found out the price dropped $5. I mentioned this to the Rep and he said there was some price error and immediately refund me back $5.
It is pretty great I can buy myself a cup of coffee tomorrow.
My Silverstone 450 gold has clicking noise sometimes and the fan is also "humming". It is dead silent when I stopped the fan with my finger so I think the fan is garbage or faulty. I am pretty confident that Corsair will be quieter. Looking forward to receiving the unit.
I am also planning the build so I cant say things for sure but I think it is fine to put SFX-L and GTX 970 together. Although I personally would wait for Corsair SFX PSU.
For the motherboard, I decided to go for Asrock Fatal1ty Z170 because of the oc ability and M2 slot.
