Yeah I'd be careful with that, can be the PSU, but if he hasn't allowed the PSU to sit for a while or tried to drain it via power button (holding it down) OCP might stay on if has been triggered.
I have a 1200W Seasonic PSU that is exhibiting this behaviour on a different platform. In this...
Just got word that GB has apparently removed all F31 Bios from their X570 Master page, and is apparently doing an update (we'll see, but it's not there yet, only F30 from September).
It seems quite difficult to find even when I ordered it as it released. Was fortunate Computer Alliance happened to list a whopping 3 of them while I was browsing for one.
Would have liked to see a third nvme slot and a second internal USB 3.1 header for this price.
PC Case Gear here in Aus crashed the 6800XT page just after midnight. All they did was add Power Color red devil for pre order. Got to see a glimmer of "add to cart" in between the 20 or so 504s I was presented with, then they were gone.
5800X appears to be in stock almost everywhere here...
I'm still waiting for my SN850 drive and Liquid Freezer II 420, but I will be busy all this week anyway.
Good to see AMD is readying bios for undervolting, might be able to tame this 5800X properly by the time I put this rig together.
Meanwhile my 8700K system knows its being replaced, went...
I was pretty lucky to get one. Retailer literally listed 3 of them last Thursday night. Couple other retailers here in Aus sold their pre-orders out quick but not expected to ship it til next week.
I didn't buy the GB board. I was researching it. Such a shame really. Been sitting on a 5800X...
I left a comment on that video, but yeah, could be an idea.
I was browsing around the web on this issue, there a pretty big sample of affected users getting around.
I couldn't bring myself to get one in the end, I managed to get a Dark Hero instead. Payed thru the nose for it though :(
LOL PCCG in Australia: "expected to sell out in mere seconds" and "not available til next week".

It'll be between a 3080ti and 6900XT for me anyway though.
This is the Hardforum son, thread ain't going nowhere :p
The last 3 GB products I've owned have been problematic, 2 went RMA, one is here and got issues (7970TO). B250 "Ultra Durable" dead and RMA'd (basic office PC with a gold PSU lol) and 1080ti Aorus had problematic voltage controller...
Unfortunately for me, the Ace and the Creation, lost me at "MSI" XD. I've had a look at Buildzoid vids of them as well, they aren't horrible, but still, "MSI".
Ugh, at this rate GB has done nothing but insult that great VRM.
I'm almost tempted to just buy one and get to testing on it. If I can find the evidence, and then mine fails in this way, I can lodge a complaint with the consumer commission. But then, don't wanna jump into a dumpster fire either XD. Damned Asus boards getting expensive here too.
Another food...
I thought I heard Taichi was a T-Topology memory (RAM) layout.
People seem fond of the Strix-E, there is a Strix B550 XE coming out very shortly that looks nice.
This is phenomenally disappointing to read. Been looking at this board.
Was also eyeing the Dark Hero, but they want 849AU for it which is ridiculous.
I just RMA'd my CM 1200W Platinum PSU (Seasonic XP3) due to very similar 5V rail issue, won't power up the board (Max 10 Apex) unless you...
I work as an assistant sysadmin myself, I understand how the attack is deployed, but I'd hate to think that shits gonna start crashing at a dime because of these updates. They've had since like mid last year from what I understand when they first found out, I'd hate to think they pushing broken...
I've got some folks testing on my Discord server, so far no dice. I've sent my supplier a query regarding if there's been an rma trend since the patch, will wait to hear from them.
Hi folks,
I've come to find that my system has become unstable after enjoying nearly a year of light overclocking after installing the Windows update for the Meltdown patch.
Firstly my OC (may not reflect outdated specs in sig sorry):
7700k, 4.8Ghz, 1.24v (4.5 Ring + 4.5 AVX @ 1.21v)
MSI...
Figured I should just update this for the hell of it, but after some time of testing I settled for:
4.8ghz/4.5ghz AVX/4.5ghz uncore @ 1.195v, LLC mode 1 (1.23-1.24v under load, adaptive mode)
SA voltage 1.15v (1.17v load)
IO 1.1 (1.12v load)
C1E enabled for speedstep (0.86v idle)
Default XMP...
Hi folks,
I just recently built a new gaming rig, consisting of a 7700K, GSkill TridentZ 16GB (2x8GB 17-18-18-37-2) RAM and MSI Xpower Titanium board. I put a Kraken X62 on the 7700k given it's a thermal reactor by itself, and have now installed a 500GB Samsung 960 that will host the main game...
This is funny because most of the recent stuff I've seen suggest Ryzen is up there with Multithreads but not so grand at overclocking or gaming. Smoking is not the word I'd use yet.
LOL they must have just added that an hour ago. I've been on the site all day :D
Gave PCCaseGear a miss due to their postage being insanely wrong for me, it's like $160 for express whereas Mwave's is always much cheaper.
where is 300W written? I didn't see that?
Been seeing this post around since yesterday apparently from AMD's slides that has the 1700X slightly under-performing the 6800K in games. And the more I'm looking at Z270, the more I'm thinking it has everything I want with the chipset/lanes, whereas I'm making a sacrifice on future-proofing...
Well that's cost them my immediate business, having said that now that I know there is delays with the boards (good job btw AMD on co-ordinating such an organized release!) at least I have time to see reviews and change my mind.
Mwave just confirmed to me that in Aus they aren't releasing until tomorrow, seems the embargo lifts at 5.00pm our time (AEST) today. They also said they are unsure when motherboards are coming and that only the Tomahawk is definitely going to be out on same day. So no Ryzen for me until next...
I really wonder why MSI hasn't bothered to point out their VRM specs. Maybe they are thinking the same that Ryzen isn't as hungry therefore lower the VRM quality. And why no backplate when most recent Intel variants have them and then charge more?
The joys of preorder lmao
Whoever brings out best VRM and Samsung memory wins me. I'll whack my Kraken straight on it. My current 980ti can't handle anywhere near the overclocks some people say they getting, and mines Hynix.
I bought a CM 212 until my Kraken x62 brackets come in stock at mWave. After my Tt Bigwater 850 Incident, I like to keep a air cooler on hand anyway ;). At least I'll be forced to wait for overclocking info here before I go off into the deep end and blow shiz up lol
I wanna know if in Australia, that NDA lifts at midnight and they start shipping 9AM Thursday so I get it on Friday. It's 10.30PM March 1 here now, if they don't ship until PT then most shops would be closing here. And I'll be waiting until Monday DX
Good stuff, having a browse...
EDIT - You know, I'm not really impressed by this XFR. My 3960X seems to creep up to 4550-4600 when I have it on 4500 for reasons I have no idea, but always thought it was cool it did that. I guess I just built up an expectation that these things would clock...
