I have a primary monitor the alienware 24.5 240hz that i game on. The screen is impressive for its purpose but for browsing and twitch/youtube/discord I'd like to keep it on the side on a seperate monitor.
I have a X-star 27inch korean monitor OC'd to 110hz for now (I've had this for years and...
There's a freesync and gsync model to the alienware. I bought the Gsync for only $509 on amazon here https://www.amazon.com/Dell-AW2518H-Alienware-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B0733VW5QB. This is significantly cheaper than the Asus due to the sale. Also spec wise, the Asus / Acer are both using the same...
Don't get the PG258Q, i just returned mine recently. I was diving into the realm of 240hz displays myself lately and so far I've tried the Acer /Asus brands and disregarded the benq because of the lack of G-sync on it. However, THIS monitor is superior to the Asus in every way. Don't laugh...
All i see are the founders editions for the cards and the 3rd party retailers released them as well, when are the non FE versions coming out with higher out of the box clocks?
From what i understand, if you lower the resolution to 1440p in a game on a 4k monitor, would it NOT look blurry in full screen mode? Just like running any other resolution that isn't native to the monitor itself, it does not scale the pixels properly, it would look blurry no matter what...
Well the size is appealing as well as the panel but 75hz to me is negligible to 60hz which is why it would help if someone with the monitor tried to overclock this to atleast 90+hz via nvidia panel to see if it works.
Just curious, are these micro ssd's becoming the norm now? Are they faster than a traditional SSD being used via SATA? I've never really ventured into the micron ssd realm if someone can care to explain.
The only thing keeping me from purchasing this monitor is the fact it's 75hz, if someone can test whether you can overclock this to at least 90-96hz via custom profile in the nvidia settings it would be great. It's highly possible that it may reach it, you won't damage your monitor in any way...
I actually prefer to have it at 2560x1080 than 3440x1440 for some reason. Perhaps because resolutions are suffering from fps issues as it is from current gen of graphic cards. From a gaming perspective at the least. The monitor looks delicious though.
I've been with my 27inch x-star @96hz for awhile now and been wondering if there are any newer models in the 32inch realm. 1440p is fine for me as i'm not interested in 4k since I only have a single gtx 970. So basically, what are some good options for something bigger than 27inches that is good...
Got it also at $249 during black friday, best money spent on a cpu since. Upgraded a 3570k which wasn't a big leap but i have been itching for a hyper threaded i7 for awhile. Mine is currently OC'ed at 4.7ghz.
Honestly, http://www.hardocp.com/article/2015/01/07/far_cry_4_video_card_performance_review/5#.VLAPJ9LF81I 970 is getting 50.6 fps on max settings and they're not OC'ed. I'm getting a couple of more higher than this as i'm sure most others do considering how user friendly these cards OC up to...
What is the difference between this and my 1440p X-star OC'ed to 120hz that i got from 200 bucks on ebay? Is this going to be a worthwhile upgrade or nay.
I see, I left it at power limit 106% since GPU-Z reports I only hit around 104.xx% during a gaming session of bf4. However my voltage is still left at +87mv on afterburner. Is this safe to leave it at that or should i find a target for it as well. My clocks are at 1507mhz with the voltage...
Even my single 970 maxes farcry at 1440p and i get a stable 60fps...BF4 I'm at 70-80fps on ultra. I don't think SLI is even worth it unless you have a 120hz monitor, even then most games you'll have to disable the second card (Talking about a variety of old gen games that can be maxed by a...
This time around EVGA's quality is subpar, they had thermal placement issues on their earlier cards that they probably fixed but I still wouldn't go with it. Their warranty isn't as good as before either, they gave up their lifetime warranties and pretty much any other manufacturer is giving...
I bought the 250gb on black friday sale for 70 and it's served me well so far. I honeslty don't need an extra but for the abundance of games on my machine I might grab another one instead of settling for a fat mechanical to store my videos.
After fiddling with my bios a bit, I OC'ed my 4790k to 4.7ghz/1.280v and it seems to pass 5 minutes of OCCT and POV-Ray (Andtech uses this method to determine stability on their OC's so i follow this suite). On 100% load, I am close to 82c temps but I hardly reach this % so when I play BF4 i'm...
What speeds do you usually get? I'm getting 120mb/s during transfers and had no issues thus far. As someone else mentioned though, you can easily exchange these if they go faulty.
I use these http://www.microcenter.com/product/385310/32GB_SuperSpeed_USB_30_Flash_Drive if you have a microcenter near you. It's a godsend, i don't think i would go back to usb 2.0 ever again after using these.
What the hell is this garbage? 2gb ram?? They made the 970 so well that they just couldn't top off the 960 further to bring it close. Grab the 970 and call it a day, it's the best card for this term. Funny thing is, 970/980 are considered high ends where as the 960 is probably not even a...
Sorry for the late reply, yes I have 2 SSD's on my system however space is so limited on them that I can hardly install every game to it. I have to resort to buying an extra mechanical drive for my videos and extra games, I'll hold off on the extra 8gb of ram for now.
So i shouldn't be using firestrike as a way to guarantee stability on my overclocks? It doesn't throttle my speeds when I run heaven benchmark nor hit the TDP limit (gets to roughly max 102% out of the 110) even with voltage increase.
I've been messing around with my msi gaming gtx 970 for awhile now and been having an issue with throttling. I followed all the guides around and raised my power limit to 110%, left my memory at 350 because i get artifacts/crashes at 500 (8k memory)..was able to get my core clock to 1500mhz and...
Nice speeds, I have a very nice upload but i hardly stream or do anything of that sort. Verizon fios is truly amazing though for home grade....I remember having time warner and they sucked ass. A+ for fiber optics.
Windows automatically updated my gtx 970 to these yesterday so I uninstalled them and re-installed my 344.75, turned off the auto update feature from control panel. This morning, I was playing some games and they get cut off in fullscreen at the edges so I didn't know what was wrong...checked my...
