I am not sure if this has been discussed, but I could not find it anywhere. If I upgrade my copy of windows 7 to windows 10, does the cdkey for windows 7 become invalid? I wanted to know if I still have the option to use W7 later?

I currently have 2x4gb sticks of DDR3 Ram. Is it okay to get an additional 2x4gb ram kit (same manufacturer and specs and timings) as my current one, or do i need to get a single 16gb kit? Not sure if that would cause problems.

I have a EVGA GTX760 with ACX cooler (non oc). So the 970 cooler I mentioned with only 2 heat pipes touching is the same way on the card i have now?

I dont want the extra heat coming off the card, and have no use for extra FPS in the games I play. Plus dont some games get cranky and become unstable with the OC cards sometimes?

correct me if im wrong, but the heat pipes dont line up on the 970 correctly, but they did on the 760. All 3 heat pipes touch the chip on the 760, but only 2 do on the 970.

Interesting, I did not hear anything about a firmware upgrade for those cards. Must have missed the threads and news related to them. The heatsyncs of the EVGA acx cards still annoy me because of the heat pipe design. Wish they did not let that happen. I will have to look more into the stock...

I may have to look into that card. Usually I would go for the EVGA cards w/ acx cooler, but not with all of the coil problems and poorly designed heat syncs.

I used realtemp to check the temp of my cpu. All 4 cores are between 95-100 degrees CELCIUS .....when i am on the desktop. I am using a stock cooler and there is no overclocking taking place. Should I reapply some thermal paste and put the cooler back on? Those temps seem way too high.

What is a good brand for sata cables? Is modright a good brand? they seem like good quality cables but wanted some opinions. I want some reliable good quality cables that can handle switching drives. The standard "red" cables I see dont always hold up very well.

If you have to upgrade either the cpu or the gpu, I would go gpu. You will benefit from it far more than the cpu upgrade

You wont notice a difference with the cpu upgrade. You would be buying the new cpu and mobo for I think an extra 100 mhz at a cost of atleast $250. Unless you need m2 and SATAe support right on the motherboard I would not bother( I think that is the main difference in terms of hardware support)...
