    Where are the 8K Monitors?

Now that 4K 240Hz OLEDs are out, is 8K 120Hz OLED going to be a thing (relatively soon) or is that fluff?

    Dell UP3017Q Value in 2024

So I have the Dell UP3017Q that I bought back in when came out in April 2017. I have someone who may be interested in buying it but the problem is I don't know what the monitor is worth approximately today. It was $3500 brand new (when I bought it) and obviously I can't get that for it now but...

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

Contrast Enhancer on Off? Also, are you using any custom profile or just the default (under Color Management in Windows)? Can you replicate the black screen issue in full-screen mode in games? Are you going to update firmware to the latest one (1005.3)? EDIT: Issue went away after turning on...

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

Guys, just updated the firmware to the latest one yesterday (1005.3) and installed the latest drivers today (551.86) and for some weird reason, any game I play in full-screen mode just shows up as black/blank screen! If I use Windowed mode it seems to work fine. This was with Adaptive Sync "ON."...

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

For that tool on GitHub, which profile should we use? Not sure I understand which "nits" level we should use? The max brightness on the monitor is only 50 so how does he have 55 & 80 on the profile? Please explain to a noob. Also, what is the latest firmware on the monitor? I have 1004.1 but...

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

Well, you guys aren't going to believe it, but the 120hz/240hz bug has been SOLVED! I got yet another DP 2.1 cable (DP80 certified from "Club") and the monitor STILL showed only 120hz when booting up and/or restarting. So, I decided to plug the AW3225QF into the LAST DP PORT on the RTX 4090...

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

Hmm.. could be that the pg32uqx is indeed using DSC - so that means only one monitor can run DSC? Is it possible to turn DSC "off" for the asus monitor? If so, how? This issue goes away if I have just one monitor connected (just the AW). I can't run two displays at the same time at the full...

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

Tried the new cable from Amazon (DP 2.1) and it STILL has the 120hz/240hz bug! WTF?! Disconnecting the cable from the GPU and plugging it back in "fixes" it but it's a huge PITA and ridiculous. Firmware is updated. Which DP cable are you guys using? I've narrowed it down to the fact that DSC is...

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

Will give this a try but I haven't change the cfg settings for GTA V. The game is heavily modded (I have 3000 add on vehicles, using Realism Beyond, and a shit-ton of other mods) but nothing that messes with the refresh rate. Is the AW connected via HDMI 2.1 or DP 1.4? If it's HDMI, then yes...

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

That was the culprit - I disconnected the PG32UQX, shut down the PC and then restarted it and it was still at 240hz! So having a 2nd monitor connected seems to mess with the settings somehow and makes it default to 120Hz upon reboot/restart. I definitely need the 2nd monitor so this is not ideal...

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

Hmm.. that's odd. I'm using the original DP cable that came in the box with the monitor (my other DP 1.4 cable was only rated for 4K 144Hz so I ordered an "8K" cable that can do 4K 240Hz from Amazon but it's on its way). I too have HDR on in Win 11 and on the monitor - which HDR setting do you...

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

Updated firmware but the problem still persists. After shutting down the PC and then restarting it, it defaults to 120Hz and I have to do that "Turn off HDR and then back on" gimmick to get it to 240Hz again when using the DP cable. Is anyone else having this issue or are all of you using only...

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

Tekken 8 on this monitor is a blast. Colors pop and makes everything look amazing (UE5 game). Is there a firmware update for this monitor yet? Also, anyone else having that refresh rate issue where it resets to 120hz when using DP 1.4?

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

HDR is meh compared to the PG32UQX. Games that utilize it well (BF1, Cyberpunk 2077) look incredible on the Asus monitor. However, if I could have just one monitor, I'd obviously recommend the Alienware AW3225QF mainly due to OLED, 240Hz. The curve is okay (would've preferred flat tbh)...

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

RTX 4090 and games like Anno 1800 or Diablo IV work fine at full resolution. However, games like GTA V etc. just crumble (w/ mods) at that res so I honestly just play those games on my other rig w/ the PG32UQX (4K 144Hz). For most recent AAA games, DLSS is a must (Alan Wake 2 etc.). Older FPS...

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

lol those days are long gone! I still have too many monitors though - Neo G9 49", Neo G9 57", PG32UQX, AW5520QF, FI32U - probably will sell the FI32U and use the PG32UQX as the accessory display and put this OLED 240Hz as the main. hmm.. You get yours yet? How're you liking it?

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

Why are there monitors in 2024 being released with DP 1.4? WTAF? Shouldn't DP 2.1 be standard now? Are there any 4K 240Hz OLED monitors coming out with DP 2.1?

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

At full res (7680x2160), have to use Performance DLSS with everything maxed out including RT, FG, Ray-Reconstruction etc. Still dips below 60fps in the forest areas. Game is easily the best looking video game out there (Cyberpunk 2077 is a close 2nd). On my other rig with the Asus PG32UQX (4K...

What are the ideal settings when using HDR in Windows? The colors look good and if you turn HDR off in Windows, the monitor look amazing but I bought this thing to use in HDR most of the time (especially "Auto HDR" in Windows in games like GTA V etc.). Also, can someone please post the link to...

Oh okay, I'll play around with the settings some more to optimize it to my liking then. Btw, what is the latest firmware for the 49" Neo G9? I can't find the original thread and the Samsung website has all these weird model numbers and I can't tell which one is the Neo G9 49" that I have.

I do have it on Custom - should I leave the Brightness/Contrast/Sharpness/Color at Default settings then (50/50/10/30)? For Photoshop - fixing the FPS to 120FPS in NVCP did the trick! Thank you! No more black screens. Was driving me nuts. Btw, in Display Settings, the HDR Certification says...

Interestingly, I tested it on my X99 rig (Win 10 Pro) and this issue is not there! Same settings (display wise - 4090 w/ 7680x2160 @ 120Hz). So it seems to be some issue with Win 11 ?? What settings do you use for brightness/contrast etc.? What are the optimized settings? Why is nobody...

You're right - the current firmware is the latest 1001.2 on the monitor. Yes, mine came with the plastic screen protector intact. I had to remove it once I installed the monitor and put it on my desk for some ASMR action (lol).

holy ..o_0 I didn't realize this... hmm... should I cancel the pre-order?? What's the point of getting this monitor if it can't even be used at its full potential yet? Could we run it PBP at 3840x2160 @ 240hz (2x 4K @ 240hz) side by side or is that no doable either?

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

okay, will try that. Using a Logitech MX Master 3 mouse so the dongle is actually plugged into the keyboard's USB slot right now - perhaps I'll plug it into the monitor as well. But, bigger question - with the 4090 (Asus RoG Strix 4090 OC), can I run 7680x2160 @ 240hz as the monitor's "native...

Hmm.. if I'm using 2x DP cables for each monitor (49" Neo G9 on top and 57" Neo G9 on bottom) how do I use the built-in KVM functionality? Can I use the USB ports on the monitor for the keyboard/mouse as well? I thought it's always better to connect the mouse/keyboard to the PC directly? Also...

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

Yes, a docking station. I am planning on using the 57" Neo G9 as my "main" display with the 49" Neo G9 on top as the accessory display.
