The car handling is still garbage. The solution is to use one of the many available motorcycles. Night and day difference in the driving experience and lets you actually enjoy driving from point A to point B while blasting around all the traffic going 100+ mph the entire time.
This. I'm surprised that more people didn't give the motorcycles a go in their playthroughs. Blasting across the city at 100+ mph while weaving through traffic (with the high-density traffic mod enabled) on a bike was a ton of fun and why I had over 130 hrs in my playthrough.
I think the answer will be "not particularly well", but I don't expect AMD RT to be competitive with NVIDIA for several more generations. They're getting better at it though.
AMD marketing has everyone making the association of 7900XTX = 4080 competitor. So, they're effectively shifting their card stack by one tier, and the $999 7900XTX replaces the $649 6800XT. Then, the 7900XT replace the non-XT 6800.
Not as egregious as what NVIDIA is doing with 4080 pricing, but...
Doesn't mean the AIBs won't be producing them. And, yeah the lack of perf metrics is concerning, although it could just mean it won't beat a 4090, so no point in telling the world your new card is in 2nd place.
Wasn't the base C5s A4 final drive ratio 2:73:1 tho? That's what my 02 TA had, and it got 26 mpg all day long on the highway, same as my 02 WS6 TA with M6 and 3.42:1.
Point taken tho on newer cars with A6+ gears.
Wait till RDNA3 launch and see. mlcarson is saying 6800XTs and 6900XTs have similar performance. Mine has proven to have good OC headroom to outrun a 6800XT, but that's not necessarily the norm.
Catsonar here's my validated score: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/72045575?
Cracked off a 22.7k upping the clocks and power somewhat. This is at 360w with MPT.
I'm on air btw.
I'm not entirely sure what you getting at. It's pretty common for AMD drivers to improve for quite some time after launch, and the gains occurred to my card at stock settings and OC'd. These gains could have occurred closer to launch than when I re-benched in Dec, but either way a 9-10%...
I waited until last month to finally play CP and after 80 hrs invested it's probably tied for the best game I've ever played (tied with Bioshock Infinite, whose release generated its own lively discussion).
Maybe I'm a cold-hearted bastard, but I've never had any hint of an emotional reaction...
So, I updated the drivers, reconfigured the case fans, then set the mem clock to 2,130 as thecold suggested. With the core clock at 2,600 (50ish MHz less than the runs in Feb) I ended up at 21.9k. Junction temps in the mid 80's, or about 5* cooler than before the fan reconfig.
Noticed that the...
I'm at 365 w using MPT but can't go higher as I'm hitting 100* junction temps (on air). Spent plenty of time adjusting GPU and case fans and can't seem to improve temps.
For those of you hitting 21-23,XXX TS scores, are y'all running XTXH-spec cards or cranking up the power limit to 400ish watts (so presumably under water)? Or have driver updates helped since early in the year when we were all getting 20,XXX scores?
My 20.3k score from a few pages back seemed...
Nice find. Once things are in place and sorted out suggest checking out MPT and see what the card can do. Under water you should see some nice gains.
Just saw your other thread. I'd link to MorePowerTool but not sure if that's kosher.
Still OC just for fun mostly. Have to scratch the itch to see what the card will do.
That said, it was a bit disheartening to get MPT up and running, case fans screaming and all at 100* junction due to 330W target, and discover that I'm barely getting 4 extra fps.
The OC-ing effort to...
6900XT has treated me well. To note, this is on 1440p ultra wide tho. That said, admittedly, I would have snagged a 3080 had one been available back in Jan.
Time will tell regarding DLSS & RT vs FSR.
IMO, neat, but otherwise not terribly exciting unless 1) it actually ends up on AMD's website, and 2) sells for something near a reference 6900XT. Specs say it will prob OC similar to all the usual AIBs--all largely similar themselves--so to me it comes down to price/availability.
You're on a custom loop tho, so I'd definitely use MPT then. Not sure if a 2x 8-pin pcie setup (reference card, right?) can pull more than about 375w (150/each 8-pin + 75w x16 slot), but should give you some nice gains. If you give it a go, post the results in the 6800/6900 OC thread.
I've had decent luck with mpt; however, like most folks on air, the power ceiling comes at around 360-370w due to thermals (~102-104* junction temps). I backed things down to 330w (~95-98* junction) and still hit 20k in TimeSpy and see good fps improvements from stock.
Admittedly, the extra...
MSI MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE is what I had originally for about a week while trying to work through what ended up being ram incompatibility issues, so I didn't have it long enough to say. Has good reviews though. Bios works fine for me coming from an Asus.
WiFi on the Unify is good, but my only...
If you can find a reference 6800/6900xt, I'd snag it in a heartbeat. AIBs won't bring much extra performance to the table for the 30-40% increase in cost.
Without a WB I suspect you'll hit thermal issues pretty quick with a reference for anything more than a mild OC though. On air with MPT...
I have a MSI Unify and it works well with my 10850K. You didn't mention what you plan to do with it tho. If staying stock with just turbo boost, any mid grade mobo should be fine. If OCing the piss out of your 10850 (all 2-300 mhz...), then a more premium board's better VRM may help.
