I have a PC with X9SRH-7TF motherboard that i don't reboot very often. (a few times a year at most)
Yesterday i did it and the boot is now stuck on the "LSI Corporation MPT2 boot ROM successfully installed!" message.
(The mobo has some LSI 2308 controller connected to the drives)
I tried...
I got this:
Does that mean the HDD is dead?
Also how to set email alerts? I tried entering my gmail adress but how can nappit need to know my email password account to send me email?
I tried to test mail & TLS (? don't work)
Is there something to do for protecting my ZFS boxes from wannacry ransomware? If some infected machine is connected to the local network can it access them by SMB?
It's not a thin aluminium foil, you'll need some serious force to adjust it.
And i'm worrying about weakening it (if not damaging it), especially at the welding points if i bend it again in the opposite direction?
Because these bent thing are supporting the whole weight of the cabinet itself and...
I bought a 22U cabinet from xcase a (long) time ago but the frames are bent so the doors won't close:
I mailed xcase and he replied something like he's not forgotting me and waiting a new container to replace it.
That was two years ago, in 2014.
it's not required, these GPUs automatically throttle themselves at something like 85°C (fan speeding up and become noisy in heavy load)
Off course if you want maximum performance and oc, watercooling really help, and it's much more quiet.
Before wc i was 85°C and noisy, now it's more like 45°C...
I'm interested in that monitor, but how is the input lag/latency? Is it same/better/worst than the PA301W?
Prad's review talk about like 80ms which seems quite high to me, but the panel is 10ms when my PA301W is 12ms so i thought it should be at least good?
Thanks, but i already have a SX500 and wondering myself if there was going to be a problem.
I thought 300W for gpu, 100W for cpu and 100W for mobo/stuff, should fit even without room for more?
If not or too much tight fit I'd gladly take a SX700 but the load based only fan control thing is...
I get peaks like 92°C with battlefront, blower at full speed. (and 60°C for the 6700K)
Reason i want to set a watercooling, but i don't know well how to set the right angle fittings on the correct position.
I'm trying to figure out how to watercool CPU+GPU in M1, classic config using one side 240mm rad and one bottom DDC pump.
What kind of fittings do you use?
There is obvious need for right angled fittings, but i heard many stories of leak because of some rotating fittings, and i don't know how am...
About that, i wonder how to fix a (non EK) DDC in the M1 floor under the graphic card, and how to dampen the vibrations without making it overheat.
Screws through grill holes? Adhesive foam?
I'm about to finish my M1 build (already have all parts except graphic card, waiting my 1080 founder)
Now about the watercooling, i thought using EK wbs for CPU/GPU, 240mm rad and a DCC pump (too bad the predator can't fit using proper orientation, wonder if it's really that bad in a filled...
Sorry i didn't get this point first. I was thinking the classic way (so obviously not too much space between gpu and predator :D)
Yes, that would make it sounds possible and perhaps a cleaner way to integrate a predator.
Who cares if there's "hot air" blowing against the motherboard? And SFX PSU's intake is on the other side.
The main cooling is done by the waterblocks, i don't think the other motherboard components are this sensitive to the air temperature blowing on them.
If you really want to avoir this you...
Do you think a second 240 rad on the bottom will provide much more cooling vs only one 240 side? Or it's negligible?
As for a 120mm rad, is it going to increase the performance or noise by a significant margin and worth the hassle?
I saw that MarkRWatts managed to cool his rig using only one 240...
How did you managed to fit the pump with two 240mm rads?
Did you tightened the CPU waterblock screws enough?
About AIO integration i saw the Swiftech H220-X which seems to be shorter than the predator, does it fit the M1?
Nice build, it's good to know even a thin 240 with cramped 15mm fans can cool a full CPU+GPU config! The 120 SE with a 25mm fan should improve the temperature indeed.
In the NCTEKM1 build even swapping one fan from thin to 25mm improve the things a bit more.
I'm very attracted by the predator...
So i bought a M1 v5 and hardware (6700K, Gigabyte Z170N-WIFI, 2*16GB DDR4, SSDs M.2 & BX100, SX500 LG) and all i need now is the watercooling and the graphic card.
For the GPU I'm waiting the next polaris or pascal generation but as they'll probably use more or less the same ammout of power than...
I'm planning to build a M1 based config using 6700K and next gen (polaris or pascal) gpu, but i wonder what's the best choice for a full watercooling cpu+gpu :
1/ classic single side 240mm radiator with two NF-P12, i would use a EK EVO CPU wb, a DCC+EK top (does it fit?) and probably the...
Bought a ncase v5 from the new batch for building a small gaming PC.
What mobo do you recommend?
Is there some to avoid/some to chose specially?
I'll probably use:
CPU 6700K
RAM 32GB DDR4
GPU GTX980TI
PSU SX500
SSD BX100
WC EK GPU+CPU+DCC+240mm+120mm rads
Why do i lose access to my zfs omnios server when i shutdown my Windows machine?
I can't reconnect the network drive after boot (neither root or user password are working) unless i reboot the zfs server too.
Another thing, why does the thumbnail preview of a folders filled with...
I disabled guest, connected using root account; i have full access to all the files and folders but i still can't change the share settings on the security tab from windows.
Second weird thing is that i can't find the "everyone" user anymore by searching for users/groups/... in the folders i...
Weird thing, i can't access the "security" tab from windows anymore.
It only occur on the shared folders, on the others folders i still can access the security tab, but i can't find the "everyone" user anymore.
Instead i only have root and the mastaba user i created when i couldn't use the root...
I set my zfs nas as torrent download target, but utorrent randomly return some "write to disk" and "hash" errors, is there something i can do to fix this or it's not recommended to use things like torrent directly on the zfs volume?
