Actually I think I'm not Booting - noticed the caps/numlock are stuck on.
Monitor works with my laptop.
Tried powering off, unplugging, etc. Reseated the RAM.
Ideas? It worked before I drove home.
See second post!
Had a mishap - won't go into it - and a friend offered to let me use his brand new (but 2-3 year old) parts for a build for cheap. Never used before. Pretty much exact thing I had before.
We built it together (COVID safe bubble).
It worked at his place. We set it up with one...
Bought the Yogscast Bundle or w/e on Humble. There's a CoD thing I'm not gonna use that has an expiration date, so...

I got the "Yogscast Jingle Jam" bundles from Humble Bundle in both 2016 & 2017. Both included a beta key that I did not (or do not) plan to use.
2017: Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Beta - Gone to kledar586
2016: Disc Jam BETA x2 -- these might not work, because they are BETA keys from over a year...
Yeah, I've tried 5 times but I haven't wanted to get too rough with it -- but if I am 100% sure it should line up (and can), I will be a bit more forceful.
Thanks for the response. Haven't built a computer in ages so I'm stressing a bit, hah.
Hey guys,
This is the first time I've used a cooler that didn't come with a CPU (because Ryzen didn't come with them past a certain point). I got a Hyper T2.
I can't seem to get the cooler to line up properly over the CPU. It's supposed to though right? So I should keep trying? though at...
Not sure if it's still accurate or not, but one of the rules here (#26) says that price checks aren't allowed except in General Mayhem.
But if it was me I'd see what all of those parts were going for used on eBay, round down a bit, and sell it as a bundle. Good luck!
It's my understanding that Coinbase can generate a 'report' that summarizes your activity and that Binance can at least allow you to export a history of all your trades.
Are those things enough if none of your activity predates those things and assuming that all your trading activity is...
I am watching and hoping for Raiblocks to get on Binance. I'm a bit wary of having myself spread out between too many exchanges so all my stuff is on either GDAX or Binance.
I thought about doing an ITX build for a while - I was going to pick the Corsair Obsidian 250D case (I love that series of cases). It can fit a GPU that is 290mm long (not sure about other space requirements), and some of the reviews of the case praise it for being able to fit a high-end GPU...
Story of my day...
So I have a short list of around seven ~24" monitors I'm looking at (all IPS), and around three 27" ones. Planning to read a few reviews and pick this weekend if there's any deals.
But I was at Best Buy today picking up a Christmas Gift (external DVD-RW drive for my...

Or... would I see a significant performance increase if I went with ~250GB instead? The $250 budget would stretch...
What's the go-to SSD these days?
I'm going to re-use my 4TB storage drive from my current computer, but I'm going to keep my old SSD in a box with my old MoBo/CPU in case I want to revamp those into a media machine or something later. Also means if I ever decide I want a Win7 machine I've got...
Dell website says that both do, see the links here:
http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-ultrasharp-27-4k-monitor-u2718q/apd/210-amlm/monitors-monitor-accessories (U-model, mentions HDR in description but not title)...
So been reading up on this monitor: Dell UP2718Q
Here's a review. Here's the official page.
But there's also the U2718Q (not UP, just U). It appears to be around 1/3 of the cost of the UP version on some websites, but I can't figure out what the difference in them is?
Not to mention that...
Got a link to some information on this?
On another note I have a x1600 Ryzen, a ATX MSI Krait gaming mobo, and an ASUS ROG 1070 Ti (I decided to splurge after all when I realized I could justify it as part of an upcoming work project). Gotta figure out a CPU fan that easy to install (seems...
Yeah, I lean towards getting a second IPS to go with my current one. But are they supposed to be more readable or just have better colors? I currently have one TN panel and one IPS and while the IPS is prettier by far it's not easier to read... but that might be because my crappy TN panel is...
I don't have room for something that large, sadly. Cheers tho, looks like a great TV...
...and on that note, at this point, what's the real difference in using a TV versus using a monitor? What do monitors offer that TVs don't (in general)?
I'd love some suggestions.
I do game but it's more casual and with friends than competitive, so while it'd be nice to have a monitor good for gaming I do NOT want to make that a priority in the selection process. I do a bit of video creation and editing for work. Color accuracy is a plus but...
Damn, tempted. I'd like an iPad mini (the normal size is larger than I like in a tablet) but I've held off on one hoping for v5 to be a significant upgrade. IIRC the specs on the mini fall reasonably far behind the other iPad lines - or is that inaccurate?
Argh, I want one... but I just...
I see you guys saying that the 212 comes with a free AM4 adapter kit? Do you have to request that somehow or ?
Also looking for a cheap Ryzen cooler (not planning to overclock, at least not much).
Took me a while to find it, as it wasn't anywhere near where I expected it to be on this page:
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/X370-KRAIT-GAMING.html
But finally found it! In case anyone else is curious about an MSI mobo, here's where I found my information...
IdiotInCharge - Thanks! Not too concerned about noise. I live alone and my AC is louder than any dozen computer fans. My concern is compatibility - it's supposed to be compatible according to the company but I saw a few folks complaining about it. I'll double check before buying.
I ordered...
Got a cheaper non-water cooler rec? The Hyper 212 is one I've used before but I've some negative stories about that one and some of the newer AM4 boards. Anyone have experience getting a cheap (<$30) air cooler onto an AM4 X370 or B350 board? I don't want to just trust they're compatible...
Huh, do the onboard graphics on the B350 mobos work fine with Ryzen chips? I know sometimes 3200 RAM for example will work with Ryzen on those boards but not other AMD chips. That'd make it easier to sell/repurpose later if I could take the GPU out and have it still work... but I'm guessing it...
Hattiesburg. I think we've actually talked about that before? Not sure.
Good to know about the card - I am seriously tempted by the 1070 ti. I'm really not concerned about gaming though - is the card still worth it for other purposes like video editing and photoshop as well? I know it would...
I'd planned to build last year when I drove past a MicroCenter (~8 hours away) but I got worried about the difficulty of returns when I wasn't local. Since I built in 2011 I've upgraded the hard drives and the GPU but it's past time for a new overall build. I'd like to order a few parts...
Glad someone else asked this, as I've also been wondering.
I want a card in the $350-$400 range, but I could go higher if I felt it was actually worth it. And I want to get the best bang-for-the-buck for non-gaming purposes (potential video editing in the future, playing with photoshop...
But is it still likely to be the best quality external 8GB drive? $40 bucks more for it sucks but it is what it is if it's still a good deal compared to everything else.
Huh - so, I've been looking to upgrade my external storage... I take it this is about the best you can do for an external USB3 drive that's at least 8GB? Cuz if so count me in. I only ask because it sounds like most of you are purchasing to get at the drive inside rather than use it as is.
I bit the bullet - I'm not likely to find a better deal anytime soon. I've wanted one for ages, but now I guess I need to figure out how to use it and with what software, hah. I don't know jack about photoshop, only gimp. Etc.
The MAY20 code does appear to work with their high-end drawing tablet (cintiq competitor, iirc):
