OP, let me know which benchmark apps you used. I too built an XP rig, also a little more current hardware. Ended up killing a Gigabyte 980ti playing SC2 for 2 hours, it was at running at 83c sometimes going to 89c. It died while idle at the menu screen. Ended up getting newer 980ti...
I've got a ton of older games, even dos games, but I'd probably use dos box for that. I basically want a max effort rig that had one of the best CPU and GPU combos you can throw at it, Civ II is just skimming the performance of this rig.
Again, its a 6700k, ITX, 32gb ram, 256 nvme (i...
Trust me, I wasnt on the up and up, I bought a 3080 back in December for like $834. I see that theyre now something like 1200-1300. The 3060 was around $400 or even less, is now pushing almost $600, prob 600 after tax. I sold my 1080ti back when I got my 3080, insane right now.
I want to be...
Currently have a 6700k rig and want to put in a decent GPU.
What would be the better choice:
A card that has no warranty or maybe what's left of it vs a new card with fresh warranty but less performance specs?
That's basically how I'm looking at the 3060, less performance in comparison to...
Gigabyte 1080ti - SOLD
Meshify C - Great condition, window panel wrapper still on as seen in the pics. I bought this late march for my 2020 rig, selling because I moved to a Meshify 2. $40 firm

Has anyone here played Cemu Zelda: BOTW? I mean on the Nintendo Switch playing on OLED was amazing, but playing the game on PC takes up several notches, its fucking beautiful!!!!
Now I got a 3080 waiting to go in and its going to take it up another level. I hope... Prob not tho since the...
Negative, I dont think it was a pile of crap at all. Removing it was a stupid decision which I hope they re-add to the c1 line up. Was just watching today, nfl on one screen, youtube on the left and can switch audio. You can watch either hdmi or cable tv or whatever. This is on a 2018 B8 55"...
I finally figured it out after some more googling, since the G5 docking station is supposedly capable of 4k 60hz. I had to go to bios and Enable High Resolution mode when connected to a USB-C DP alt mode dock.
Basically it will change the usb ports to 2.0 which is fine for me since I dont need...
I've tried two different laptops both at HDMI (8k cable that can do 4k @120hz, and the 4k @60hz) STILL stuck at 30hz. I tried doing intel custom scale and just trying to increase the refresh rate and no matter what it's stuck at 30hz. :(
Anyone get this issue with a laptop connect directly or...
Anyone know how to activate multiview? Im trying to have my console show up at the same time as my pc but cant find it in the home button where it has been in the two previous OLED line up...
I experimented with plugging the hdmi from laptop directly into the 48CX, and still 30hz at 4k. Its a work laptop so i need to get permission to use intel graphics control panel which is in the microsoft store. no longer on Intel's site.
DP, especially the new 2.0 ones have a bandwidth of...
If you're like me and got the 48CX for work and play... Work might be an issue depending on your laptop. I actually have a "newer" laptop and docking station. HP Elitebook i5-365u + HP G5 docking station. After research both can do 4k60hz, i just need to use display port. Problem is 48cx has...
Having a hell of a time using my work setup, its only outputting 4k@30hz. Hate the input lag. I think if LG really wants to advertise this as a "monitor" they should have included 1 DP input. I've already confirmed the laptop and docking station can do 4k60hz. It just has to go through DP...
I know im not the only one that remembers this, but didnt youtube promise no commercials? Like that was the reason people went on youtube, no stupid commercials. Oh how the past will always be missed :(
I tried to play this game on the CX, just couldnt do it, its too big.
And not sure how anyone expects to play competitive (i mean I dont like to lose or get my ass kicked). After switching back to my 1080p 24", it felt better and let the ass kicking commence!!!
Whats the best setting for desktop use where its on for at least 8 hours a day (work)?
Also, I cant figure out how to have different picture settings despite having a B8 and C9, this one just doesnt have picture settings that stick..
Yea i just upgraded my docking station at work: https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-usb-c-dock-g5?jumpid=ma__product-tile_dlp_nan_5tw10ut_hp-usb-c-dock-g5.
I'm hoping those 4k60hz cables i got do the work. So far it looks a little better connecting through hdmi, and not a displayport adapter...
exactly, i dont know why people would comment if they dont know wtf I am talking about. I'm not looking for an adapter that has a female end. BUT if I do need one that's usb powered (to help amplify) then I will use an adapter. I think I might in this case since nobody makes a displayport to...
48cx to a display port only docking station. Are there any display port to hdmi 2.1 cables (no adapter, im talking about a male display port to male hdmi 2.1, do they exist?). I plan on getting hdmi 2.1 cables for sure, but since my work setup is display port I have to go DP to HDMI route...
Those with the 48cx, what gpu is powering the beast? Currently on a 1080ti. Undecided on 3080 or 6900xt or wait for a 3080ti and try to get lucky.
Getting excited, it will be my work monitor too.
Does the TV come with high end 2.1 hdmi cables or nah?
My clueless brother bought one of those 27" imacs. Got it last year, he didnt even get the one with an ssd, probably because it was another $300 more or some crazy shit. Really man, people that buy apple are suckers. I just priced out my rig and if I bought it from apple it would be over $9k...
I'm curious if LG can't fix the issue with 120hz refresh, 4:4:4, 4k, HDR, would they drop the prices?
I'm on the edge of buying this but for the money want something that does all of the above. Admittedly I dont have a GPU that will drive it.. yet. Will probably wait to see if AMD makes an...
Man I want to pull the trigger on a 48CX, but worried that next years model will do the above 4:4:4, 4k, 120hz. this will be a work monitor and gaming like MS Flight sim. FPS shooters will still be on a 240hz 24".
I post in PCMR in reddit and for about 2-3 months I kept saying to wait for the 3000 cards. people still went ahead about bought the 2080ti or 2080. I dont know if it was just no patience or people didnt have faith in nvidias offerings. But this gen was a huge leap
