I jumped on this this morning. I had contemplated it many times in the past, just couldn't do the $50 (or sale $35-45) with at the time so many bad reviews mixed in. $5 is totally worth the risk though, and reviews are up from before.
They will NOT let you order two though, so its $12.99 each...
I played for about three hours last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The increased crafting element is kind of weird but definitely makes the game feel very different from 5. The whole atmosphere is different with the overgrowth and (so far anyway) reduced population etc too. There's less...
Alright, I contributed to gabe reluctantly.
Picked up far cry primal with expansions for $20.
Also got far cry 5 again for $23.
I pre-ordered the fc5 biggie for $90 before and never could get it to stay running (crash on any key input, but would idle for video test/demo forever lol)...
I think the best indications of whether or not the sales were better 3+ years ago or if everyone is just expecting too much are looking at what you used to spend (I too would regularly but bundles and flash sales were great etc, often overbuying and giving games away as gifts because they were...
It's like each sale now for the past 2+ years goes above and beyond to make sure there is absolutely nothing of interest for sale and/or unimpressive discounts.
Got a promo email tonight for referral sales, 100 off or 150 off xl and referrer gets 100 credit too.
So that's a thing, not sure if those stack with any existing discounts/sales though.
I'm sure there's plenty available here (and probably no one buying GS ones now an away), but if you want a...
Oh I didn't realize they were back on subsidies again, I thought they still quit that (or did the bs ones where you either still pay as much oop or have to trade a high dollar phone in etc).
Now that you mention it I do remember now the bf deal was b1g1 on Verizon (Fi too, but still requiring...
While limiting to Verizon is dumb, isn't the only drawback being that you can't lease the phone from tmo or sprint or att? Or make payments on it however they are doing that now?
I mean you can just as easily buy it from google to use on whatever you want and not have to deal with the locked...
I don't have any real value to add to your post but did want to say things pointlessly.... I don't (didn't?) know if there was a way to adjust ring volume without it making sound apart from when the volume button default was ring volume.... If that was what you meant, I'm totally torn on that...
I know I've mostly skimmed this thread, but I'm pretty sure that's a mispost :p
I did notice some improvement on the ram bit.... I didn't really have much issue except Facebook primarily getting a blue screen boot from time to time if I was 3-5 apps away when I returned to it, but that hasn't...
I rooted every phone I've had, usually to get rid of carrier garbage. I did custom roms a few times but always ended up going back to stock rooted and using Titanium Backup to freeze the garbage apps that couldn't be uninstalled.
The og Pixel was the first phone I've had that I genuinely saw no...
I could be wrong about that part, but I seem to recall when I was looking into themes I saw a google-official statement regarding the hole being patched in forward versions of oreo.
Edit...
The overlay support thing (without root) is only for Android 8, and if I recall correctly the latest version of 8 patched the support out too.
As much as I like this phone, I am wishing I had waited for one of the honkin deals (Google store 400-450 off the second is coming up) or taken the...
^^^ FWIW, Signal Spy allows you to switch between providers on the fly and does not require root.
I like fi, but I sit right at 1-2gb a month total on two phones.
It's hard to compare like you said, but for a probably irrelevant comparison switching from a pixel xl to a pixel 3 xl and using them in identical behaviors my battery life went up by a substantial amount. Even beating on the phone it still does way better.
I know it's not like comparing two...
If I remember right, the speaker thing is intentional. Seem to recall Google addressing that at some point.
Regarding the photo saving bug. I literally LOL'd the first time I saw this mentioned. My OG PIxel has done it since day one, and the addressing of it indicated all 3 generations were...
Simpsons did it
Funny, the m7 was my aforementioned first "why would I replace this?" phone, even when ~2.5 years old it did everything I wanted. I still have it, couldn't bear to sell it.
I've posted most of my issues here... No deal breakers yet though.
I do notice the speaker...
Well I completely gave up on the Otterbox. That fucker won't charge for nothing. With multiple attempts over two days and an unmentionable amount of time spent, I was able to get it to charge and stay charging one time. And it was slow as shit as expected if it couldn't even maintain...
Yeah no shit right? One friggin tongue in cheek comment (FFS I even literally typed "ZING" after it) and I'll never hear the end of all the things that apparently I implied. I forgot how touchy the kids outside genmay get.
I should go into the video card forums and make a lighthearted comment...
Jesus Christ dude, you need to grow the fuck up.
I didn't even disagree with you. Apple has had a history of talking their own path, at one point swearing off USB entirely for firewire only to eventually adopt USB to everything and start paying out firewire. Better or not, it was a consumer...
Oh yeah I totally get that. I mean I'm not ragging on Apple for doing what they do. I just thought the parallel was funny.
I personally don't like the practice, even if for the greater good. I always relate that type of behavior to the Sony marketing viewpoint that destroyed betamax :D
Damn, such butt hurt. You need to chill the fuck out and realize it is just a god damn phone. Jesus.
Edit: And just for clarity I didn't say anything about lightning either, so like the USB-C comments you are putting words in my mouth. You shouldn't do that.
Apple has a history of...
Well now I'm irritated. My OtterBox showed up today. It's nice. I usually get the commuters but all they had was defender which I've had before twice... My only gripe was the stupid plastic screen, and the pixel 3 defender does not have the screen/lense, so yay right?
It fucking pops the...
The point being its fair game, I didn't say anything about USB-C. To this day I still hear people bitch when they can't find a apple connector'd charger to use.
So I was browsing an article on auto traders website and with no warning the phone froze solid. No control at all, bottom buttons, power and volume buttons, finger sensor all inop, and plugging in did not start it charging. Ultimately holding the power button for literally about thirty seconds...
I had an interesting thing last night.
I sat the phone on the stand when I went to bed, it was at 39%. The big circle thing came up briefly then the lock screen with shortcuts came up, said fast charging 39% etc.
I woke up this morning before the alarm went off... the sunrise thing didn't...
Took no time at all to get used to the gestures, however I find that I rarely use the right swipe to go back rather just up to bring up the history browser or whatever it's called like pushing the button twice before.
Last night I ran four hours straight usage screen on the whole time and...
Okay, everybody's nuts, the notch is great.
It puts the notifications up on either side and makes a bar the same height any time you're on a framed screen, it's perfect. It only seems odd on home screen and other places where the back drop extends up because there's no frame, which to me makes...
When posting on [H], if you choose a "corrected" word in the suggestion bar while typing does it place the new word correctly or ignore/butcher the word?
For what it's worth.... I read that bit about the distortion and vibrating at higher volumes (vibe even at lower it said), and while barely bothered by it (24/7 mute), it did manage to work it's way into a dream last night....
And today, thinking about how that was prefaced by "no one else tests...
Speaking of cases, I was all psyched as I got an email saying my OtterBox shipped this morning too, so I was figuring on having it this weekend (ready for work Monday), whereas the estimate when I ordered was shipped by 22nd, delivered 25-29th.
And it has sat at "label printed" all day (Google...
Its going to be harder and harder to justify new phones every year between their longevity and their cost. I used to be a yearly replacement for the longest time, then ~4 years ago I got an HTC One which was the first really want-for-nothing phone at the time, hung onto it like 2+ years...
