i have a couple of these and they work well. i don't see the semi enclosed trays like they used to have though.

yep, it's 3 ikea galant desks. 2 straight and one curve right. the bekant series replaced the galant series at ikea. they are similar but honestly i like the galant better as it's modular and has squared edges vs. rounded on the bekant.
i remember seeing your setup a while ago and i thought it looked nice. i honestly like it better than the door. regarding the wires - have you seen the wire trays they sell at ikea? they will fix your problem for cheap. i think they are 5-10 each and you'd probably need 3-4 of them.
the ikea website states that the legs carry a 10-year limited warranty, so you may want to check that out.

Initially the floor standing speakers sounded like crap until I angled them downward. They sound better now.
If your lava lamps failed, contact lava lamp on their site and tell them they failed. They will replace them by sending new ones, and you won't have to send the old ones back.

Thanks for the compliments! I like the new setup better as the desks are against one wall so I can eventually put a couch in front of the TV. I hope my neck won't be sore from looking at the TV, but we will see. I'm usually looking at the monitors anyway while occasionally glancing at the TV...
Yes, BEKANT recently replaced GALANT. IMO BEKANT is not as favorable since it's not modular. The edges are rounded on BEKANT vs. squared on GALANT. One thing I like about BEKANT is the use of 2 legs on the corner desks versus 3 on GALANT. Regardless, they are still a great value, are sturdy...
another option (if the idea is received well, that is ;) ) is to use this syetem:

by just looking at the BEKANT link you posted, it does not appear that the series was designed for extensions.
i am betting that IKEA is ditching the GALANT because it was confusing for many people to design the system they wanted. it seems like a strange move. maybe they will offer another...
i was able to get QDQ for the first time this year. several other of our gaming group members were able to get BYOC + swag pack tonight. sweet! looking forward to quakecon this year.
ikea galant home office setup. the color is black brown. i already posted these to the 2014 workstation thread but figured i would post there here as well. my setup evolves each year (sometimes more frequently if i get bored with it), so here is the latest iteration:
yes, it comes with screws. you don't need a drill, but it helps. i fit the holder to the bottom of the desk, drilled small pilot holes, then sunk the screws. took 5 min.
