No, it is same cable. I just put it in other pcie slot and it worked.
And before I put it on riser, card was perfectly working in that top slot - and nothing happened to it during transferring motherboard from one case to another. So I think it could be something in bios to prevent riser being...
So, new build in Phanteks P600s, using riser cable... and after night long leak test there is no image on display. Was worried that gpu got damaged when assembling a block.
Then I did some testing with riser cable (original Phanteks one listed as accessory in manual). It doesn’t work in top...
I was switching from Alu loop and Thermaltake case to Phanteks P600s and copper stuff...
Aquacomouter gpu block manual said, that I should use paste in memory and pad on vrms. But I wanted to do better - so I did put thermal pads - and top notch ones from Thermal Grizzly- on memory and VRMs...
Ordered the SSD. Thanks for input.
Its fast, though doesn't feel that much faster IRL. But no SATA data / power cables inside case, as I removed older SSDs, make it up for any other issue
My S2716DG is running fine and I don't have issues with it, but after playing a bit with different 21:9 it's just different beast, not only for gaming, but for my home office too, as I can easily put few browser windows word and such around and see everything on them
I also now play mostly...
My 500 GB 840 is not big enough anymore, and I want something bigger. Right now, the Intel 660p 2TB is at about 990 PLN here (roughly $260) - it makes it cheapest nvme drive I can get- about $100 cheaper from MX500 2TB - and same price as 970 Evo Plus 1TB
Now, I use PC for gaming (and mostly...
Well, that price.will get me both PS5 and Xbox Scarlet. With games like Horizon, FC5 or Origins looking at X Enhanced at 55" 4k better than on 1080 ti@1440p@27" I said goodbye to "master race"
1080 ti is still enough for the games I play, will be playing on PC - strategies and some RPGs, for...
1300 euro for reference version in here...
F.U NV. You can get here One X and 4K TV for that and still have spare
I hope AMD and Intel will think of something in return, because we need competition badly
Is it possible - similar to Ps4 - set the Xbox that way, that only chat goes through headset and all the game effects go through home cinema?
Can't find that option in menu (on newest software) and I hope that's possible, so I can use my phone's headphones for voice chat, while everything...
Just remember, that it will only work with reference GPUs. Also when extending, getting 2nd rad is basically a must - that single slim 240 won't let you OC cpu and gpu
Since installation it works like charm. No leaks, no issues, everything is cool and quiet and OC well. I' g I took the plunge. When I'll flush it next year for cleaning, I'l get some angled fittings though and improve my tubing.
War of the Overlord
Total War: Warhammer 1 with some DLCs, so I can play the big campaign on combined old and new world map (there is free DLC, that makes that happen)
Got One X, and games look great. We'l, i al cured me of saving money for PC parts, because Forza on proper 55" HD 4K TV looks better than on pc. Also, playing on large TV with 4k and home cinema beats the 27" 1440p and headphones.
So yup, XOX becomes now primary gaming platform for me and PC...
I'll be keeping the original fans for a bit. Those RGB fans, bought separately have crazy prices and would spend more than I paid for the case on them.
I even left those front 2x 140 fans and screwed my front rads under them, while keeping the 2x120s in behind the rad.
Went with 31. I'm quite happy with it - really lots of space. It could easily house 2x360 rads and pair of my 240s feel like home. No problem with pump placement either - screwed it easily to the floor
Issues? 1) glass panel on backside. Luckily it stands near desk wall, so I don't have to...
I tried the demo during a video gaming trade show in Warsaw today. Starfighter assault is fun. Uses you play on pad. On pad it absolutely suck balls. I hope I will be able to use my joystick.
Buuuut the atmosphere of battle - communication from mission control, chance to fly a bomber to kill...
Yep. Loving that too. Picking all the collectibles, doing side activities and such. Though to truly embrace Nemesis you have to die a lot :)
Also the scenery is great. The fortress at Cirith Ungol were Frodo was held, Minas still Ithil was great too. It even balance a bit Shelob as chick...
Asus Strix Soar sound card. Even as the current gen Realtek and sound systems on motherboards are nice, I still prefer the dedicated sound card and that Asus is not that shabby. IMO it produces bit better sound for my Akg K712.
Well, guess I didn't do much wrong, by not waiting for 8700k and swapping my 4790k for Ryzen 1700 - I could now bring series of arguments why I did that. But to be absolutely honest, I had an upgrade itch building for years and wanted to try and build something new :) after I seen the 1440p...
Got fed up my h440, as no dedicated pump mount and some other issues, so swapped it for TT View 31 RGB. Thats a very nice case. Well planned and spacious for midi tower.
Had to return everything and I planned the loop again. Still doesn't have the perfect loop, because I need angled fittings...
It's totally different beast than demo. In demo I had FPS jumping all the way between 50 and 20, average FPS in benchmark was about 48 and it was full stutter fest. Now this is buttery smooth and I've no issues with game.
Early Access with review copy from Microsoft. And they are such a nice people, that they send usually most beefed up version. Embargo ended today's morning, been playing since yesterday.
And yes, it requires about 100GB disk space.
Totally different beast than demo. Works without charm, no issues with anything, solid 80-90 FPS in 1440p/Ultra/2xMSAA on my 1080 Ti. ALso no hiccups or any other stuttering. Guess those 8c/16T CPU is doing fine.... and the i 5 4c without HTs are struggling.
Here's the core usage during a race...
Thanks guys. Ordered view 31 and to save a bit on Riing RGB fans - I bought the Phanteks Halo RGB frames for my Vardar radiator fans. I'm thinking of something possibly stupid - to keep those 2 140 RGB TT fans in front as sort of "push" and then, to mount 240 rad from the other side :) will see...
I'm going to swap my H440 for something with more wow effect, so after endless browsing of all the cases, I've narrowed my search to two things
1) Corsair 570X
2) Thermaltake View 31 RGB TG.
View looks iMO better, has more space, though for the RGB fully function with 240 radiator in front...
I got bored with my h440 case (and it being No water cooling friendly without a proper place for pump), I started looking around for new case.
This one got my attention - https://www.caseking.de/silverstone-sst-pm01c-rgb-primera-midi-tower-tempered-glass-matt-schwarz-gesv-422.html
It doesn't...
Well, next month I'm getting Fractal Design Define S, so everything is properly placed. And a higher res tube (204 mm), so it looks a bit better. So yes, I'm hooked to water :)
The graphics. The lovely graphics that smokes Destiny 1 on PS4 :) with gear in signature in 1440p highest, Im getting between 60 and 70 FPS. And it looks gorgeous. Also a lot of gfx options with FOV slider and such. So Bungie paid attention to what we want from console port. Oh and mouse and...
Finally decided to splash some more cash and went with Gaming 5 from Gigabyte. Loving that board. Went 3,7 on the 1700 on auto, can easily hit 4,0 and after BIOS upgrade to August release, my memory goes xmp 3200mhz without problems.
When I upgraded to my Ryzen setup, I was hoping, that all that shiny, nicely marketed ALC1220 with "professional grade audio" on my x370 Gaming 5 is not that much hyped. However, I'm slightly disappointed with the codec.
Compared to Strix Soar (on AKG K-712), sound is more muffled, less crisp...
Went with +50 memory (5557 MHz) and
Got 2012 MHz in Afterburner OSD and 2050 MHz I Unigine Heaven OSD. Temp is 61C under water.
No artefacts, no throttling, absolutely low noise.
But disassembling FE to put water block? Never again. Such a pita, especially hexagonal screws under backplate.
Finally my Ryzen parts have arrived, so i could construct the loop from EK a240g.
Thoughts:
1) Disassembling 1080 Ti is a pita. Had to use pliers to remove the screws under the backplate - those are very very tiny hexagonal screws, and it's very easy to kill PCB while taking them off
2) h440...
For the history junkies, like me, that series is great, because of the settings. You can climb the lighthouse and pyramids and such.
My buddy's gf is art historian, and she told us, when we showed her Rome or Florence, that those cities, art and buildings are exactly as historical accurate as...
I've the PS4 because of the exclusives - Horizon Zero D Dawn, Uncharted, Last of Us and such. And because Fifa and other sport games look better on TV than on PC. But the multiplatform games I play on PC.
Well, I was advised, then if going with EKWB aluminium kit, you need 2nd rad - no way you can OC CPU and 1080 Ti, single slim 240 rad will be enough. Also, if you go with aluminium, you will propably need 2080 ti FE edition, because they said, they will do only generic cards blocks.
But, if you...
knowing some of the missions from esrlier series, it will be a lot of grinding in some of the later parts of game, especially when missions are aboutattacking mega weapons :)
Yepo, I bought 4790K, when it was launched iun 2014, and didn't bother with all the socket changes, because it was good enough. If not for my Z97 board, which died, I'd never consider the update till Ice Lake, or maybe even later. Right now, when I build my Ryzen rig, I won't be changing CPU...
Oh hell yeah, a proper AC - cheesy cutscenes, experimental weapons, lots of explosions... not like that earlier, real world based. Pity, that we have to wait till next year :/
Since I couldn't wait anymore - won't be waiting till "ffall" without a proper PC, and don't want to invest into old platform, I just went with Ryzen 1700 with that new EKWB aluminium loop and Gigabyte Gaming 5. Should be building new machine during weekend :)
