Right now I am gaming at 1080. I have a 1440 monitor and was thinking about using it again . The reason I am using 1080 is my eye sight isn't what it use to be so I went to 1080 to better to see my desk top icons and the letters beneath them. I play all kinds of games shooters, sims and more...
Is there a place to find or get Windows 98 drivers for this motherboard? I am not having much luck locating what I am looking for. Maybe there is no such drivers to get.
I watched the whole video and I see it's told me to hold on to my current cpu and maybe see if I can up my memory from the 2400 Mhz to the DDR 4 3000Mhz. The i7 7700k seem to like it.
Would it be worth it to go from a i7 7700k to an i5 8600k? My pc is purely a gaming pc I would like to try a Rysen but my current ram doesn't appear it would be fast enough. My ram is DDR 4 2400. I would probably have to buy DDR 4 3200 which I think is way to expensive for the AMD cpu to work...
I did buy them in pairs and you are right one pair is single ranked and the other pair is dual ranked. Thanks for your help. I learned something today. Memtest found no errors.
I am running memtest right now but so far nothing has showed up. I was on the web this morning and came across this information about Dual rank and single rank memory modules. When I run CPU-z and look under the SPD tab the one module will say dual and the other says single. I may have been...
How could I figure out which one may be bad? I tested both and both had the same results. If memory weren't so expensive I'd buy another set and try them out with the set that's runs in dual channel mode. I also have to reset my xmp every time I switch modules.
I did do a check. When I did that with CPU-z one memory stick in slot one said it was running in dual mode and the other memory stick in slot three said it was running in single mode. They do the same in slots two and four. I think it may be the two memory modules that keep running in single...
I took out the memory sticks that where running in single mode and moved the memory sticks that where running in dual mode to the slots that the single mode sticks where in and they are running in dual mode. I then installed the single mode sticks in the other two slots and they are still...
I am not sure if I am posting this in the right section. I have a Asus z270A prime motherboard with 32 Gb of memory installed. I've had this motherboard for a few months and just noticed that two of my sticks of memory are not running in dual mode but single mode. The memory sticks are all the...
Has anyone had trouble installing these new 378.66 drivers? I keep getting a message driver install failed. I installed a new GTX 1080 and I keep getting this failed to install. I had a GTX 980Ti and they installed just fine. This is on a Windows 10 Pro operating system. The install for these...
If you are gaming at 1920 x 1080 the RX 480 4GB version is all the card you need. I just read an article in MaximumPC where they did a massive graphics card round up. In the article they said that there was no advantage in the 8GB card vs the 4GB card. They gave the RX 480 4Gb a verdict 9 Kick...
Thanks for your replies. I go through this every time something new like this comes out. I'll keep my Zotac it runs all my games smoothly and has never given me any reason to not keep it. It is hard to justify replacing this video card.
I got my new ASUS PB278Q the newer version. What cord are you suppose to use to be able to enable 2560 x 1440? There was no manual to tell me this info.
Would the ASUS PB278Q be a good choice for a new 1440 monitor? I see that it is used to evaluate video cards here on {H}ARD|OCP. I just got a new GTX980 and want to get a new high res monitor. Any advice would be welcome.
I am changing motherboards. My operating system is on a ssd hard drive. Is doing a clean install on a ssd hard drive different than a mechanical hard drive? My operating system is Win 8.1. I am going from a MSI Z77 board to an MSI Z87 board.
That's the problem with the Antec 900 its not wide a enough case the side fan sticks out enough to interfere with tall coolers. I tried an Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo the cooler interfered with the side fan. So for now the Phenom 2 cooler will have to do. A new case is on the way.
I had a Phenom 2 cooler and am using it for now it seems to be doing the job. No overclocking of course. It'll have to do for now. The cooler that came with the FX6300 looked crappy.:)
I have gotten my new SSD installed and am very happy. The speed is noticeable. I booted up my backup machine which has a HHD and man is it slow compared to the SSD. I was skeptical at first but I have been made a believer. Some day I will have to get an SSD for my backup computer.
Next week I will be getting a new Samsung 840 pro 256Gbyte ssd. I am going to do a clean install on it. According to the installation of this new drive I have to unplug the old drive that has my operating system on it and plug in the new drive so it is the only drive that will be seen by the...
I have two different size monitors a 17" and 27" . I want to run my older games that don't do well on a wide screen to run on the smaller screen. Is this even possible to do when both screens are connected to the same computer?
You are probably right. You would think that the programming of games would catch up to the technology. The game works fine with a GTX560Ti but not a Amd HD7850.
I ran into something that I did not expect. I installed a HD7850 in a computer for my wife and when she started up her game a message came up saying that this video card did not support Shader Model 3. The game was the new Legos Marvel Super Hero's game. Has anyone run into this? It was a...
Has anyone had trouble shutting down their computer after installing the new win8.1 update? I have been running win8 for quite sometime and never had this problem until installing the new win8.1 update. Sometimes it will shut down just fine and then it will not shut down at all without turning...
