It unfortunately doesn't have a bracket to support the card once it's removed from the kit. Next step is to see if that bracket can be purchased. I don't really want to send the card back since it takes a while to get them.

I'm in the same boat. My new build is around this board with the E3-1230, but the RAM options will probably make me go with X8SIL-F instead. I want to start with 2x8GB chips and no have to go with any 4GB chips.

Mainly because of the cost of maxing out the RAM on the X9SCM. I want to start with a 16GB kit without having to go with 4-4GB chips. I haven't found any affordable 16GB kits (2x8GB).
