Just upgraded my rig a little, overdue by 5 years! New case, more RAM, new graphics card, new SSD. :) also treated myself to the Audioengine S8 subwoofer, combined with the A2 speakers makes an epic 2.1 set up. NAS and Star Wars art ;)

I hear you fellas. I start games but life gets in the way and never finish but I keep buying new games. I might try only having a few games installed and see how I fare.

Just recently had some work done in the study, could really do with updating my primary system. The processor is still excellent just need a newer graphics card and some more RAM although most new games still cause me few issues on high settings.

Is there a link to translate to English, forgive my ignorance?

It is hardly an issue is it: see this article and review, as for overshoot this reviewer states, 'Good pixel responsiveness which should be able to handle fast moving scenes in movies without issue. Not possible I'm afraid and believe me I wouldn't be adverse to such a practicle solution were it possible. You comment is somewhat terse without knowing much about my room or circumstances before making such a generalisation.

You would be suprised mate, my GTX480 rig makes my small study unbearable in the summer and I only live in the UK, air con is a no go. It is why I built a 2nd rig for everyday duties.

As per the thread title mate. Is there is passively cooled GPU capable of outputting 1440p resolution via a display port output. Just for every day use maybe some films but no games. Cheers.

Gtx 670 looks interesting. Annoying thing is my 480 can handle pretty much anything still but the heat output is ridiculous.

The only intake is the front 140mm fan so temps are fine, there is a lot of clearance above the system and behind where the exhaust fans are. I will add one 120mm fan to the side for an extra intake and have considered a new desk for my new property so that can only help things further...

Recent upgrade - CPU is now included in watercooling loop along with the GPU. Blue LED strip installed, just need to get a side panel window now :) to show it all off.

Will change further in to the new year as I will be moving house and have a dedicated office rather than a corner of a room, will hopefully go down the custom desk route.

My CPU is at 4ghz but ive never seen any slow down, i'm running this on ultra settings, 1900x1200 with the ini shadow tweaks as well.

I don't suppose you could list the mods you have and order installed and also comment on whether the game is stable? In particular what is the night time one with the clear night sky with stars and moon?

Thank you, I will trial the Solo Mini and RX1's first before deciding whether to go down the AS500 route. Would you consider the Asus Xonar DX to be an adequate sound card or would the Arcam rDAC be better? Thanks for your help btw!
