Please please please PLEASE use that flexible OLED tech to create a monitor I can roll up and bring to LANs easily; I would literally pay $3k for a 2K 24" rollup OLED monitor...
Hey jhcpw,
I've just updated the thingiverse page with my "final" version of the clips (v2) and updated with print settings/filament selections.
Lemme know if you need any further info!
I've been waiting for Ubuntu Phone to take off/become viable for close to 4 years... I originally tried it about 2 years ago on my then Nexus 4 and besides a few rough edges it was overall a good phone experience; transition to desktop mode was also quite nice and the full Ubuntu GUI/environment...
Please forgive my ignorance if someone has previously made this argument, but with the recent shifts in how the US government and regulatory bodies are deregulating aspects of the Net in favor of helping ISPs make more money (article over-viewing new FCC chairman's stances and how they will...
richiegore I've been very happy with it; it provides 95% of the cooling capacity the C7 provided before its installation, looks pretty awesome, and is even quieter than the C7!
Pretty much the only downsides are cost and QA; first one I received had a small balancing clip (much like a car tire)...
UPDATE
I've finalized the design (slight variations on the clip arm depth) to ensure the best fitting for the door clips.
Gen 1 worked quite well, but after the updates to the clip arm depth the doors are held on with twice the strength of the orignal Lian-Li clips!
I've updated the thingiverse...
I've been getting around 25c-30c idle and around 48c-55c under load (gaming/rendering/etc) for about 4 months now; I have to say for the size this thing is fantastic!
Here's my thread on my initial testing if you're interested in a bit further detail.
Hello all,
Here's my contribution to the A4-SFX community; I've designed and printed some custom door clips to fix the sagging issue as well as some custom cable combs to best route the cables in the limited space!
If you're interested in getting the .stls so you can print these items, checkout...
Hello all,
I've created some replacement door clips for the Dan A4-SFX with Sketchup and my 3D printer to solve the door sagging issue discovered once Dan received the first development model from Lian-Li and was unable to modify the design to fix the issue.
If you are interested in printing...
So Lian-Li is teasing a single USB C 3.1 passthrough cable on their main site; wondering if the single USB 3 connection on my DAN A4 can be replaced with this :D
Just need to find a skylake compatible board with that internal connector...
Update:
So I started to notice a rather high pitched whining coming from the Engine 27 after a day or so of use (even over the Dell R610 server) and decided to do some further testing in a sound isolated room (as best I could). I determined that due to the design of the cooler they have to...
Hey everyone,
So up to this point I have been running a Cryorig C7 on my i6500; this cooler is considered by many to be the pinnacle of SFF cooling.
I have been following the CoolChip kinetic cooler for about 2 years and was ecstatic when I saw Thermaltake may finally bring the product to...
Tomsk82 Bottom of the page: DAN Cases
dondan Is there anyway you could put an anchor name on the Compatibility section of your webpage so it can be directly be hyperlinked to, hopefully solving these constant dimensions questions?
You would just need to add <a name="Compatibility">...
Hmm, I'm unsure why I am having issues then; I have sent them an information request multiple times in the last few weeks and haven't received a response (ensured they didn't fall into my spam filter in gmail as well). I guess I will continue to contact them; thanks for the quick responses!
On...
I submitted a few questions to HDPlex (from their site contact form) and have yet to receive even a confirmation email; has anyone ever received a response from them?
There's big money to be made in the US incarceration system; free labor, tax incentives, and of course enormous profits to be made!
With this in mind, it's obvious why they want to ensure as many people make it into the system as possible; slavery in the US is alive, it's just hidden from the...
Aircoookie I stand corrected! I'm not sure how I missed that when I quickly scanned it to make sure I wasn't being redundant, but lo and behold I have proven myself redundant :P
I will proceed to spam the info page whenever someone asks from now on!
dondan Would it make more sense to measure the maximum safe card/cpu cooler dimensions and post it on your website so when someone asks if their card/cooler will fit we can just link them to the dimension page?
The issue with the board is only really noticeable with m.2 drives that have memory modules on both sides of the PCB like the PM951 1TB (can't find a good picture to illustrate) where the memory module directly is impeded by the nuvoton chip. Any SSD with a clear backside should fit perfectly as...
Oh man, I just researched the chip (nuvoton nct 67910) and it appears to be responsible for controlling the systems temperature/fans...
Hope it works well when an SSD is using it as a heatsink... :/
So I finally submitted to my incessant internal nagging and updated my setup with the following items:
Asrock fatal1ty z170 gaming itx ac
Intel i5 6500
2x4GB Gskill DDR4 3200
Samsung PM951 1TB NVMe m.2 SSD
Cryorig C7
During the install I ran into a rather frustrating issue: due to the fact...
jtd871 That riser has already been proven to not have the better price break point (dondan contacted them a while ago and confirmed this) that dondan needed and the existing 3M riser cable provided better bulk pricing, hence it's continued use.
TBH I'm also unsure what Yakk is referencing, but I have had great success with AMD Clean Uninstall Utility
Just uninstall the entire AMD software suite through control panel and then run the AMD clean uninstall util to remove all files/dlls/regkeys leftover.
There is still a single pc-q25b available on amazon at this time: pc-q25b amazon
As for an alternative: Silverstone makes a pretty compact 8-bay hotswap-able case (DS380B). The DS380B has 8 hotswap-able bays at the front and can acomodate 4 2.5" drives internally.
@DonDan
So another post on [H]ard was showing off a new riser cable from HDPlex: HDPlex PCIe Riser Cable
I realize it is quite late in the process, but it looks like this cable might be an excellent alternative to the 3M cable currently planned.
I have asked HDPlex if they can confirm the cable...
I'm really glad all these people that don't have a Linux distro as their installed OS are stating that it sucks; I go on Ferrari forums all the time and state their cars suck when I don't even own one too!
I have been solely on Ubuntu for about 8 months and it runs the games that are available...
Man, wouldn't it be great if AMD would die, like Factum wishes, so Intel and Nvidia could become the hardware developer equivalent of Comcast! I would love to have companies in a monopoly standing so they can offer fair prices on cutting-edge hardware!
Oh wait, no competition breeds items that...
Do any of you actually know a Linux gamer personally?
I currently use Ubuntu 15.04 and have a better experience with DOTA2/CS:GO than I did in Windows 7.
I am using the community drivers (which are the Omega closed source released last Octoberish) and I get around 100 fps in both games with all...
@Dondan
AWESOME!!!
If you offered a 50%-75% down (or something similar) option for those that don't want version 1.0 and would like to get version 2.0, I think that might coerce enough of the people on the fence to chip in and help the project; that way everyone wins, you get the funding and...
@Dondan
-If the first iteration of this case is successful (and I mean nets enough of a profit that you are quite comfortable) how likely is there to be a version 2/3/4/etc.? Also will the released incremental versions reflect user input?
-Would it be possible to offer any updated parts (that...
