It all depends on how far away you sit from the monitor. At four feet or less, which I imagine most people fall in to, 4K is fine at this size.

I couldn't disagree more. They are far greater than "three times better" than cheap cans if properly amplified. The problem is that most people aren't in to headphones, and the hobby, enough to warrant the purchase of a true headphone amplifier and/or speaker amplifier to drive them properly...

I couldn't agree more. It's ridiculous how $700-1000 has become the new norm for high-end GPU pricing and people just bend over and take it. No competition from AMD plus absolutely no willpower from the general buying public = sheep convincing themselves that $700+ is what they're supposed...

I'm still gaming on a GTX275 and still waiting. The prices of the 780/780Ti were, and still are, ridiculous otherwise I would have upgraded months ago. I'll keep waiting for the 980Ti and see what that does to current prices.
