ACER PREDATOR CG437K monitor, better than ASUS?

Why wait for Intel? At 4K just go AMD and save money. There will be ZERO benefit to going Intel at that resolution.

In Search of Crisp Fonts [UW 32"] [Quadro 1000M 2560x1440]

PPI has nothing to do with resolution... well, it does, but it's dictated by SCREEN SIZE primarily. A 27" 2560x1440 and 34" 3440x1440 will have identical PPI. You just get more pixels. 32" at 2560x1440 doesn't look crisp at all. If that's the max resolution your laptop can support, get a 27"...

    LG 48CX

It is ridiculously priced, Acer already announced their X32 will be $3,599. I'm sure it will be a decent monitor, but the pricing here is just beyond Insane. When you realise this would buy TWO 48" OLEDs, with enough money left over for a top end 144Hz 1440p monitor, it's absolutely laughable...

    Gaming Monitor for Business Use?

VA is pretty yucky given the colour shift. It's not even about accuracy, as you see very visible colour shift even when looking at your web browser. It's not a problem for games, but then you can have other issues there, smearing and such. VA can be a horrid experience for some people, but it...

    My New Monitor, 2020 LG OLED 48" - Gsync 120hz @ 4K 4:4:4 / Film Maker Mode / Google Assistant Voice Control

One link... I went back and checked. You said links. Disappointing. And what "stuff"? That's vague. Can you specify what stuff? Again disappointing. Also, all of this has been posted before, given it's all from January. Even more disappointing. I give your post 3 out of 10. I didn't like it so much.

Thoughts on how bad the monitor market will be effected by the pandemic ?

I think we will start to see monitors with severe BLB, glow, smearing/black crush, dirt/dust under the panels, poor/non-existent HDR implementation, and ever increasing prices despite all of the above... oh, wait a minute...

    Looking for LG 43UN700-B reviews/info

Eh? Acer have one, and Asus have two... VA panels, but they are a premium product and generated a lot of buzz and excitement until people realised they were overpriced TV's with many issues that made them unsuitable as all round monitors. Because at this size, you aren't going to be able to fit...

    Looking for LG 43UN700-B reviews/info

Shame they completely ignored Freesync on these. Nothing with IPS at this size which has it sadly (the 43UD79 doesn't count), so they could have had quite a unique product then.

Recommended 4K monitor for photo editing under $1000

You won't find 16:10 these days. You also definitely want IPS for photo work. If you want Freesync for occasional gaming, there are a couple of solid LG 32" 4K options, 32UD99 and 32UL950 at the top of your budget. If gaming is of no interest, you could look at the Dell U3219Q, BenQ PD3200U or...

Asus ROG Swift PG43UQ with 43.4″ VA Panel, 4K Resolution and 144Hz Using DSC

There was never any doubt it would be the same. Panelook indicates it's just a new iteration with a brighter backlight. It still puzzles me with they even bothered with the XG438Q and didn't just go straight in with this model at a lower price point. I can see plenty being suckered in by it thought.

Wait for HDMI 2.1 TV or get Dell 34" now?

Yes I have spent much time tinkering with ClearType settings. I have always been at 32" 4K, so yes, superior PPI vs 43", but I have adjusted for that with seating distance. The difference I see is more significant than this would explain. I think it will mostly come down to the panels in...

Wait for HDMI 2.1 TV or get Dell 34" now?

Only the problem has existed for years and it hasn't been fixed. If it's that simple, why hasn't it been? In addition to the Asus and Acer, the 43" Philips monitors (there are a couple), the LG 43UD79, another couple of Acer ones... I've tried them all, plus a few TV's. Your Z43 is actually...

Wait for HDMI 2.1 TV or get Dell 34" now?

Whether it makes sense or not, it's quite apparent that the majority of BGR panels are reported as having issues with text reproduction. I've experienced this myself on the 4-5 BGR monitors I've tried, and there are countless comments in numerous forums speaking of the same. It's somewhat...

Asus ROG Swift PG43UQ with 43.4″ VA Panel, 4K Resolution and 144Hz Using DSC

Well it's a different panel tech entirely, with these new 43" monitors all being VA. The Z43 is IPS. So is the LG 43UD79 though, but I've seen people complain about text on that monitor too. You are the only person I've seen actually talk directly about text on the Z43. There's no VRR on your...

Wait for HDMI 2.1 TV or get Dell 34" now?

LOL, that's because the Z43 is RGB not BGR! http://www.panelook.com/LC430EQE-FHA1_LG Display_43_LCM_overview_29998.html
  17. B

Wait for HDMI 2.1 TV or get Dell 34" now?

Yes it is. RGB just does it better. Side by side, it's obvious on every BGR panel I've tried. Some BGR panels MIGHT not pose an issue, but it's still a terrible recommendation and something I would personally NEVER advise someone do as they could find themselves severely disappointed. Safer just...

Wait for HDMI 2.1 TV or get Dell 34" now?

As mentioned, HDMI 2.1 will do absolutely nothing for you if you don't game. 4K rules for productivity, but I'd stay away from any BGR panels as these will have inferior text reproduction. They work find for TV/video viewing, but are not optised for desktop work due to their flipped...

Asus ROG Swift PG43UQ with 43.4″ VA Panel, 4K Resolution and 144Hz Using DSC

No it doesn't render text correctly... yes it's better, but an RGB panel will always be superior. I've tried the XG438Q and CG437K and it's obvious text suffers, no matter what you do. For gaming though, this obviously isn't an issue, but these make for very poor general use monitors, and anyone...

Asus ROG Swift PG43UQ with 43.4″ VA Panel, 4K Resolution and 144Hz Using DSC

It can't really be 'fixed'... it's still BGR and this is obvious vs an RGB panel. There won't be much discernible difference between this and the other 43" models... only you'll pay more for this one for the DSC functionality (whoop whoop... not). It's nothing at all to get excited about, and...

    LG 38GL950G - 37.5" 3840x1600/G-Sync/175Hz

If you want the absolute best GAMING performance, between the two, the existing model will have the edge. It may not be noticeable for everyone, but the G-Sync module will be superior in terms of the sync range it covers and will likely do better at eliminating overshoot. For casual gamers...

    LG 48CX

Better ClearType is a superior solution to Windows version on the 43" XG438Q and CG437K, both of which I tried. Still woeful text reproduction either way, but it's superior with Better ClearType.
  23. B

    LG 48CX

Using Better Clear Type Tuner works more effectively than Win10's version. Time will tell how people get on with the 48CX as a general use monitor, but given how many people I see saying that they don't mind the 43" BGR monitors (which are arguably the worst monitors for text reproduction...

    LG 48CX

Most reviews are going to focus on its performance as a TV and gaming screen... both of which I am sure it will perform quite admirably. Needs a PCMonitors or TFTCentral review to highlight any text issues, and outside of that it's very much going to be down to user preference.
  25. B

What does it mean when the screen gone off for 2 seconds and come back on?

This can also be a duff monitor (likely the port it's connected to). Happened on an LG I had... every cable I tried did it.

The perfect 4K 43” monitor! Soon! Asus XG438Q ROG

I would question what their settings were, and GPU... this came up on Reddit a while ago. A lot of people are happy with text on OLED.

The perfect 4K 43” monitor! Soon! Asus XG438Q ROG

Only I can emphatically state based on real world experience that text looks worse on the Acer/Asus BGR panels than it does on my 55" B9 OLED. Obviously there's an issue with PPI and seating distance to be considered here, but like for like, text is better on the OLED vs these BGR monitors in...

    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

Which model? Is it the one with the VERY tiny Freesync range?
  29. B

    LG 48CX

No way. My 55" B9 stand isn't anywhere near that. The 65" may be have a slightly bigger one, but no way is it 10lbs... that's REALLY heavy for a stand, would practically have to be solid cast iron steel to way that much lol!
  30. B

    LG 48CX

The 65" C9 is listed at 25.2kg/55lbs MINUS stand, and with the stand at 33.9kg/74.7lbs. That's listed in a few places, but not sure how to verify exactly unless someone can actually weigh it themselves. Other 65" TV's come in a bit less it seems, while 75" models are more... the 77" I'd...

The perfect 4K 43” monitor! Soon! Asus XG438Q ROG

It's just not clear, well defined, harder to read, some letters are incomplete... just all round sub-par.
  32. B

The perfect 4K 43” monitor! Soon! Asus XG438Q ROG

I don't know WHY it's bad, but it is... I've tried both. The CG437K is slightly better, but not by much. Compared to my 55" B9, it's the clear winner, although I prefer my 32" 4K IPS for text overall.
  33. B

The perfect 4K 43” monitor! Soon! Asus XG438Q ROG

Compared to what though? A good quality 32" 4K IPS panel is going to be optimal for text. The 43" monitors are the worst offenders I've ever seen for text rendering though. The Acer CG437K was marginally better, and the Asus XG438Q was awful, in comparison to my 32" 4K IPS panel. My 55" B9 was...

The perfect 4K 43” monitor! Soon! Asus XG438Q ROG

Fear of burn-in is literally the ONLY reason I think... but that's a very big fear for many, so I think you'll still find a lot of people looking to these vastly inferior LCD monitors. Sad but true.

    LG 48CX

I think people expecting an OLED with a three-figure price tag will be bitterly disappointed. Maybe Black Friday 2020 they could hit that, but until then I expect launch price to be high, perhaps only a couple hundred less than the 55". I can't see it being the same price, that wouldn't make a...

    LG 48CX

Weight is probably right but I imagine they'll use the same 200x300 VESA they've had for some time now. TV's this size/weight invariably go with rectangular ratio for VESA, not square.

The perfect 4K 43” monitor! Soon! Asus XG438Q ROG

It shouldn't be much more costly given it's using the same panel as the Asus CG437K. Only DSC separates it really. I don't see the fuss over this... it's going to have the same issues as the other two. DSC doesn't solve a damn thing, as running this monitor at 144Hz does not magically make all...

When's the 48" even expected to be available? Has this been announced? When were the 9 series available in 2019?
  40. B

    LG 48CX

Apart from PPI, I don't believe there is any difference between the 48", 55" and 65" within the CX range in 2020, but I don't know that they've released the full and exhaustive list of complete specs yet.
