I have a Windows Server '03 system, and it automatically locks itself after a certain period of time (I think it's a certain period of time, maybe something else triggers it), but this is a problem because I want to VNC to this machine, but you can't unlock the computer from a remote location...
Ok, I can now access Smoothwall from other computers on the network thru IE. I just need to know what test to run to make sure that smoothwall is actually doing its job.
I have an older computer up and running with Windows, and after about 30min or so of being on, the monitor will act like it was unplugged from the computer (lost signal). Right after it loses its signal I can just restart the computer manualy and everything will be fine. Another thing is that...
Ok, well the box appears to have the IP of 192.168.0.1, and my network is running on 192.168.1.1...so I might have made a mistake there. How would I change the IP of the computer?
Edit: Nevermind, I just googled a answer to that :) But I can't access the system over the network thru my web...
I kind of posted this here a month or two ago, but now I feel I narrowed my questions down to just a couple. Right now I have a extra/spare Smoothwall box online, and I didn't know a lot of what to put in (in certain text boxes, etc) while I was installing the OS itself, so I'm not really...
Exactly. Say you bought 20 Enermax Libertys, and they all died within a year. In reality this doesn't mean much, because PSUs can die so randomly. So maybe you'd never buy a Enermax PSU again, but you shouldn't be spreading that around the forums, because it isn't that accurate.
My Antec Solo should be here today. I just got my DiNovo Cordless Desktop (the one with the crappy notebook mouse). It's now paired with a Logitech MX610...much better then the notebook mouse. I have a Acer AL1914 and LG Flatron, both 19" LCDs. Klipsch Promedia 2.1s..on top of the desk is a...
Yea, Seasonic is usually about as quiet as it gets. But Zalman has a new PSU that came out that's supposed to be really quiet also. Maybe you could check out a review or two. BTW, Zalmans are OEMed by FSP.
Personal experience from dying PSUs usually doesn't mean much unless you've had about 10 yrs with over 200 of the same supply. Other then that it's best to just take the quality of the supply and that should tell you how likely it is to last 5yrs or more, die within a week, etc. Of course, a...
1) For some reason now my log-in/password combo isn't working. I set the same password for both Root and System log-in's so I don't get confused. And it was working a couple days ago with the same log-in/password. Not sure what happened. I'm supposed to be putting in either Root or System...
I have all the computers in my house using Firefox. Even my sister's and mother's...at first it was hard because they kept asking "why, this is so different". Now they just use it and don't worry about why they use it vs. IE.
No, the -5V rail is hardly ever used. In fact, I can't think if a situation where it would be needed. It's about to be dropped of the ATX spec/standard. Don't worry about it.
