1) It is to cool the IC that allows you to use 4x NVMe M.2's.
2) You shouldn't need a motherboard/chipset to perform bifurcation since that IC will already take care of that.
==================
That one from Amazon only supports SATA M.2's, not NVMe M.2's.
Just in case if you were curious, I have 48GB running on my Asus R2E X58 with a i7-970 I bought from a member here.
3 sets of: G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) F3-1600C10D-16GAO
That's actually Pin-2, which is part of the +3.3v rail.
Should be okay, unless the computer is going to be in an environment that has lots of shaking/vibrations.
Try using a 24V to 12V 10A step-down DC-DC converter (you will need to do your own wiring of the plugs and some basic electronics knowledge) and attach it to your existing power bank while it is outputting 20v.
Something like this...
I jumped in on this deal since I was itching for a new computer upgrade anyways and with all the freebies that got added, it seems like a warmish deal as a prebuilt if I don't sell the parts.
I do have a question that disturbs me: How would you mitigate the huge seller risk on eBay, since...
Does your WD 1TB HDD take a long time to start up in order for it to work properly? (for example, using a USB-SATA enclosure)
If it does take several seconds (more than 5) for Windows to recognize it, that's the problem.
When a computer wakes up from a Sleep state (but not Hibernate), BIOS...
It is because developers do not trust regular people to determine how much 'free' memory they have available to the game after the OS and all the applications still running in the background (Office Suites, PDF readers, Web Browsers, etc.).
It's not too hard to find motherboards with 4x PCIe 16-lane slots for quad GPU usage, so PCIe speeds are not necessarily reduced. Efficiency may be impacted if PCIe Switch IC's are used to provide those x16 PCIe slots.
The PSU requirements is heavily influenced on what you put inside that...
The new 2nd-generation BIOSTAR RACING motherboards will be the first to have the new Lightning Charger which helps the battery of enabled devices, including smartphones or tablets, to achieve up to 75% charge in just 30 minutes. It supports QC2.0 (12V/1.5A output), Apple Mode (5V /2.4A) and...
Turbo is only for full load single-core usage. Once you load up the other cores, then the CPU speed will drop down to its normal rated frequency.
Since you are going to use it for VM purposes, you will probably never see the turbo speeds.
As the thread title says, the key word is inexpensive!
I will be using these drives to try to build a small and horribly underpowered ZFS NAS by reusing/repurposing an old ass WHSv1 appliance. (Scaleo Home Server SS4200 for those who are curious, it sounds like it will be a massive challenge...
Are those Xeon E3 v5's the best bang-for-buck at this moment for CPU performance (in terms of gaming)?
My HTC Vive is showing that my old i7-970 is not up to par anymore.
The adapters should work for continuous use, they are all pinned out for 16x lanes and the DP/HDMI ports 'should' be in spec.
One of the biggest problems is the vBIOS and/or uncertainty with custom MXM cards. All MXM cards typically have a fixed output display protocol that dictated by said...
I have 3 of these such/similar boards for engineering / R&D / OEM purposes.
Unless you know what you are doing, I strongly suggest you don't buy any of those MXM adapter cards (just so you can normally use an MXM card on a desktop, unless you are doing super basic troubleshooting such as...
If you are experiencing slow computer performance due to a measurable lack of RAM, then add more of it.
If you dont know you need this, you dont need it.
Bad news Michel Maza,
AMD Radeon™ R9 Series Graphics
Only the AMD R290 series supports more than 2 GPUs, all other R200 and R300 series are a maximum of 2.
