I set the core ratio to 40 and the bclk freq to 102 so it matched the other machine.
PC crashed on RealBench, I set the freq back to 100 and left the core ratio on 40 and it passed a 15 minute stress test.
How long do you guys recommend the stress test should run for?
Haven't seen...
So many settings in the bios, mind telling me exactly what to move? I dont really want to screw something up. Is it the cpu core ratio?
Also, why is one computer stuck at 4ghz while the other one is "variable"? Meaning that it only goes to 3.5ghz under load.
what?
Thanks...
As the title says, I built two really similar 5930k based systems at work.
Main differences is one has an asus x99-a and the other an asus x99-deluxe. Memory is a bit different though with one being a little faster.
However, while I loaded both systems with optimized defaults (have never...
Just built a new PC and I've noticed that sometimes I will turn on the PC from cold boot and the boot time will be so fast that I won't even see the "login screen" and the desktop will just pop up.
Other times it seems to take a long time on the login screen alone.
I don't have pending...
Yeah, I don't see any other issues but I spent a lot of money on this system and i'm not going to let something like this pass.
Sadly this is my first experience with MSI so I'm not sure how the RMA is going to go.
thanks for your reply
Thanks for your reply but as I mentioned, its the BIOS readings which display the wrong temp...
windows utilities appear to be working correctly, except for msi command center which I imagine gets its reading from the same place the bios does.
Hello,
Just built a new system with an msi x99a raider mobo with a 5930k.
It's working fine however the Bios reports the cpu temp as ZERO degrees.
HWMonitor appears to be working fine, but MSI command center also displays a wrong reading.
Here's a pic...
Hello,
I have a small htpc that I like to "put to sleep" when I'm not using to save energy since that's most of the time.
I had an intel 1156 motherboard and decided to swap it so I could have a newer socket and I also found it on sale...
The new motherboard is this one...
A client once asked me to build him a PC that could run 5 monitors with a single video card, the galaxy 560 ti x5 was the only solution I could find and it worked GREAT.
So I wouldn't mind owning a 560 ti x5, let alone a 680. So thanks for going the extra mile with extra features. :)
Quick update... I think I found the culprit.
I went to my add/remove programs sections and noticed something I installed near the date the crashes started....and it was a bunch of codecs.... I didn't install them intentionally, I installed the Geovision Multiview software that is CCTV...
Don't think there's a hardware issue... Same system that has been rock solid for the past 3 or so years... Not sure about corrupt files.
No, I read about that...
The only "foreign" thing that I have installed that might be causing issues is the startisback start menu, though I haven't...
Been using windows 8 for a few weeks back........no complaints so far except...

What? Not really familiar with KMS but the email I got was basically
"Here's your windows 8 enterprise key - XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXX-XXXX"
They gave me 2 options..... download a 5 mb installer and get win 8 pro, or go to the school and request a physical dvd for the enterprise version.
Since I'm...
Hello,

Hello,
I was asked to install a content filter for kids in a small classroom (2 imacs and 2 ipads).
I was wondering if any of you had any recommendations?
I'm pretty sure the iPads are gonna have to be filtered with a DNS solution?
Cheers
So according to you, it's more of a...why buy the apps if they are too easy to steal?
Stealing mobile apps is stupid, they are really affordable by anyone.
That kind of thinking is what drives developers away and will eventually hurt android even more.
Not that I care though...
Just read the first few posts on this thread...its too big and I won't bother, but I will just say that this post made me laugh since it's really common to hear among my friends that use android.
But wait, "X" is going to announce their new phones soon!!! :p
Wait till "insert dessert here"...
I have purchased some decent stuff from www.dealextreme.com and www.chinavasion.com
Dealextreme even sells sex toys... I would stay far away from their condoms tho.
Guys, doom 1 and 2 do support tcp/ip... I actually went through doom 1 and 2 with a couple of friends in coop like 5 years ago.. It's a lot of fun.
What they mean by no multiplayer support is probably no matchmaking or lobby systems... But I have my doom 1/2 collectors edition box right...
Hello,

I actually fixed it upgrading the TVs firmware. It's a sony KDL-46S5100 and I've had it for well over a year and it had never given me trouble.
I searched the model number plus "hdmi problem" and found threads with people talking about hdmi handshaking problems. After I upgrading the firmware...
No I think I just found out what the problem is....my TV is failing. I just noticed that it does the same with any device connected over HDMI (ps3/xbox)..................

Hello,
I've had one of those nettop atom based mini pcs hooked up to my HDTV for a couple of years now. I always have it on since it doesn't make any noise and uses very little power.
Well a few days ago i've had trouble with it. To put it simply... If i'm using it and I turn the TV off...
Hello,
I'm building a small video kiosk for a friend and it needs 2 buttons outside for forward and backward.
I wanted to use 2 simple arcade style buttons. What would be the quickest and cheapest way to connect them to the computer?
Most interfaces out there are for arcade cabinets...
I just did that and it showed up in the explorer window but it wont open, it says the file system is RAW and asked me to format it...................obviously I didn't.
Any advice?
