Hi
I bought these a couple months back as an interim solution until I had my house wired for Cat 6. They allow you to run ethernet across cable tv lines. Work great and I was impressed by their performance. Everything is included.
More details on the product...
Just got my NESN 8TB order in. Both were White Label EMAZ drives :( Seems the true Red's are drying up.
I have Corsair CX 430 PSU which is about 5 years old so I guess I'll need to fix the 3.3v pin.
Anyone have a good tutorial on that? I hear buying a SATA III extension and clipping one...
If you have a Harmony Smart Hub you're golden as it uses Bluetooth which can communicate very well with the base model Shield. If you have something like Harmony 650 then you're gonna need either the Pro or simply get a USB IR receiver for the base model (like a FLIRC).
The living room HTPC is dead. The Shield is a rock solid powerhouse in a cute little package that just works. Everything is beautiful and slick. Kodi flawless. Plentiful apps if you want them, including things like Spotify, Youtube, Netflix. Light to medium gaming is possible. Well...
Been into HTPC's for a while. Thinking of dumping them for the Shield as reading good things about it. But the Shield no longer has built in IR receiver. How would I control it with a Harmony Hub? I prefer to have one remote that does it all (TV, Cable, Kodi, AVR) so I'll need to continue...
Kodi is perfect for HTPC enthusiasts, super customizable and tons of beautiful skins. Also a huge third party add-on community which adds features/functionality for most everything you can think of.
Haven't used Plex but not sure it can do all that. Seems like a more simple interface with...
Bought a gtx970 for this and must say I'm pretty disappointed (apart from the eye candy).
I loved BF4 and was hoping this would be the same but with blasters and AT-ATs but the reality is killing me. Any other games you guys recommend for a BF4 fan?
Hey folks
Been out of the gaming scene since Battlefield 4 came out. I was just gifted a copy of Star Wars Battlefront and wondering if my specs will measure up. I'm guessing a new video card is needed? I have about $250 budget for upgrades at the mo. Thanks!
My specs:
-i5-2500K
-8Gb...
thanks
Grabbed the 60GB version for $49.99.
Per Kingston: Drives with firmware version 505 or 506 both meet advertised specifications. The firmware version has no bearing on the speed of the drive and drives typically ship with the latest firmware that has been qualified.
Considering one of these i5 NUC boxes for HTPC but nervous about the fan whine from such a small box.
Also, the price all in is about the same as my building a SFF HTPC with more powerful i3 Haswell.
Not sure why people still insist on Optical drives. Surely this technology is about to die very very soon.
I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of quality and rip everything to the hard drive.
I have a 3TB drive choc full of MKV movie rips. I'm debating whether it's worth using Crashplan as a backup for these. How long would it take to upload 3TB to CP and conversely how long would it take to download? Probably weeks right?!
The alternative is me spending $150 on another 3TB drive...
Thanks for this info. I just built a windows home server and was already suckered into buying one WD Red ("It's specifically designed for NAS so it must be better!") before I started asking questions.
That said, while the Seagate is about $20 cheaper the warranty on the WD Red is an extra...
