Or... Nvidia is simply being hit with component supply issues like every. single. other. manufacturer of electronic-based product around the world. Rumors like this from one person pointing to "trusted sources" are pretty weak.
There's no public company out there today that would say "hey...
Agree. The 2080Ti is likely within 10-15% of a 6800xt in the real world... I had a 6900XT and it wasn't blowing the doors off my 2080Ti at the time. My 3090 is much better but not quite as much as I had hoped. But much better than the 6900XT.
Yeah can only say post pics OP. My order from AMD / Digital River was packed really well. If it's so bad that you had to make a post surely you've taken pics. Post them here so we can see how badly they treated you...
Seeing this as well. Complained then suddenly my next purchase was in a really nicely packaged Amazon box. Crazy to think they'd slap a UPS/FedEx label on the retail package but they are.
Edit: pic's tell everything - yeah, no, I don't think I want a pricey fan with sensitive bearings to have...
Actually, I'm also calling BS on this whole tariff thing as the cause, versus pure greed due to demand, until someone shows data to support it. This reason quickly popped up as rumors all over the Net and has never been authenticated AFAIK. Media has never pointed to the specifics which would be...
At the end of the day it's simply demand exceeding supply. Whatever the factors are, more people want to buy what is currently available for sale. That's about it.
What can they do? Do you really think they're holding back? You can be sure if they could sell more they would. It's simply demand is way too great for what the supply chain can... supply. It's happening in other segments as well.
I still highly doubt it's the CPU. Intel users have reported the same thing of USB disconnects galore. Most often then not it's drivers and/or BIOS settings/problems and/or conflicts from other bad behaving USB devices/drivers.
BTW do you have any BT devices attached? Or have any adapters like...
Hmm. I doubt it's the CPU. It's likely MB related and the 3900X is somehow unmasking this problem. I've ran a 3900X and now a 5900X on a Gigabyte board that's on ~8-10 hrs daily for the past year, with all USB devices populated, and have had zero issues. And it's not a common problem or not even...
MSFS is very demanding on your CPU. This is probably your primary bottleneck but, in fairness, you have a pretty low powered system for trying to run flight sims at a decent fps.
Best Buy's massive drop this AM was impressive. Sorry for those that didn't benefit from it - 3080's went fast but the 3090's and 3070's (all mostly FE's) stayed available for 30-40 minutes depending on your location as you have to pick them up in person. AMD CPU's also dropped in waves...
Thx for replies - I'm seeing a number of older/stale posts close or at MSRP but not current ones at least for the brands I am interested in that have no issues. Have replied to sellers to see if any are still avail or just dead posts.
Edit: just double-checked and I don't see any at or near...
Crazy isn't it. Have to wonder if this is going to be a new thing for all new future high-end PC releases or if it's just an aberration. This type of hording/scalping/reselling has been taking place for years for other consumer goods (typically rare or limited exotic items) so maybe we're seeing...
RogueCast
Sapphire 6800XT still shows in stock - can add to cart no problem. Only let's me add one though :) but I'm not buying any.
Odd site though... never heard of them and lots of fluffy-marketing buzz words (on the "About Us" page) which is a bit... concerning...
Umm... yeah they are really hard to find. According to your posts you had to trade a 3080 to get the 5950 (!) and you also said you had looked forever for a 5900. Be accurate here to the OP - it's really hard to find a 5900 or 5950 right now, really hard.
This helped - thx. Changed over to HDMI and it's working now as I can once again get into BIOS during boot. Note HDMI had to be used when the card was first installed in order to get to the desktop to load AMD drivers. Was a black screen only. DP was fine once the drivers were installed. So...
Anyone having issues getting to BIOS settings? Never seen this before but assume it's a fast boot or ultra fast boot issue. But I just cannot get to BIOS using DisplayPort and this card. No probs w/ the 2080 TI installed before. Man, this 6900XT is just being really temperamental...
Have an ASUS X99 SaberTooth in original box which should have all accessories! Comes with Intel 5930K (never OC'd) and Corsair 16GB memory. Was removed when upgrading in excellent working condition.
SOLD
Open to offers as well! :)

Yeah I've been quite patient with the bugs and crashes in SC and maybe too patient! Been involved with it for 5-6 years I guess. Only thing disappointing right now is seeing just how much more broken it is visually with the AMD vs the Nvidia card - didn't expect that. And CIG will likely do...
Installed my 6900XT last night - impressive performance and real quiet/silent but seems like Star Citizen isn't happy with AMD. Lot's of issues with textures :( and knowing CIG the developer they likely won't fix this for awhile. So I'm a bit torn as I'm into SC at the moment, and my older...
Phew... My 6900xt finally arrived. Was spooked when the shipping changed from out of CA to MN, and then no FedEx status updates for 5 days until this AM. Box looks identical as FrgMstr's pic's.
What driver is everyone using - latest I assume? Will install later tonight.
Wow, FedEx now says delivery Thur Dec 17th shipping from MN - was delivery Tues Dec 15th shipped from CA. Wonder what's going on... I'll certainly take two lol...
COVID has also impacted supply chains - it’s real, we have shortages and long lead times quoted for our components. Many factories were shut down so things were not being made back in Q2 and into Q3. So supply chains are really thin and limited. This is one factor for sure.
Oh it was certainly a battle... one that I managed to win. :) This took 35-40 minutes to achieve. I was determined not to give up.
Also left out the part where, thinking my CC had just screwed me and that my order would be cancelled, I tried to buy another one and spent 10 more minutes futzing...
I managed to grab one. Confirmation email arrived about 30 minutes after. But geez what a battle: am on travel and used my iPad mobile, kept getting same errors as others then finally says I was locked out of AMD site! Arghh... What worked was clearing cache and going back to the amd site and...
