10GBase-T is rapidly coming down in price (and power usage). Given that it interoperates with existing gigabit equipment, and more motherboard and computer vendors (e.g. Apple) are beginning to include it, I feel it's going to be the defacto 10Gig standard in short order.
OWC has their Thunderblt 3 10G Ethernet adapter on sale for $125.76

By my eye, this looks like a rebadged Sonnet SOLO10G-TB3
Considering that it's cheaper to buy a Vive and then a Vive Pro than it is to buy the Vive Pro package with the sensors (seriously, wtf?), this makes doing that even cheaper. You could then ebay the headset or something.
That having been said, I'd rather spend $500 for the Samsung VR helmet...
If they want to count on that, they need to make the toner NOT cost $400! When the generic toner is $50 for a set...hell, I'd probably pony up three times that--$150--for the 'blessed' toner. But four hundred dollars?!
I bought a TN panel once. Never again! That having been said, I am amazed at the improvements that have been made to the technology...
Anyone interested should read through the TFT Central review: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_s2716dg.htm
Similarly, I ordered mine yesterday morning and it arrives today! FedEx, not some freight delivery truck. I'm hoping it'll just get left on the front porch....
Unless it's an appropriately large (high VA) UPS, you shouldn't plug a laser printer into an UPS.
Some good info at https://superuser.com/questions/466642/why-shouldnt-i-attach-laser-printers-or-scanners-to-a-ups
A Synolgoy or QNAP box is good. FreeNAS offers an excellent value-for-money proposition if you don't mind rolling your own. Depending on space requirements / number of disks, you might want to look beyond Raid 1 into a Raid 6 (or ZFS Z2) array for redundancy and space considerations.
The photography pack (Lightroom & Photoshop) is a bargain at $10/month (unless you need just one more Adobe app, like Illustrator or Premier Pro...then it's infuriatingly annoying). Sometimes Amazon has 1-year prepaid on sale for $100.
I'm with you! $30/month is a great deal! I wish that was their everyday pricing for home use or something! Getting the student price for $30, I'm still paying (though $20 was better), but I can't justify $50/month for it!
I actually went and double checked with Adobe, hoping I could get the rate back down from $30 to $20. No-go. Not every page with the student offer has the first-year-only fine print, but the chat rep pointed me to a page that did...Oh well.
It's not apples-to-apples though. iTunes at least uses h.265 to stream UHD movies. They look pretty good. Blu-Ray is limited to MPEG2, h.264, or VC-1. Granted, you're not going to beat an UltraHD disc by streaming anytime soon, but it's not as bad as the numbers make it out to be.
And I...
Mine's in my bedroom. It's the best alarm clock I've ever had! It's so nice and easy to set alarms by talking to the Echo. Other than that, I mainly just use mine to check the weather or listen to the news or music as I go to sleep. Worth it!
Hah! I just realized today that there were 3rd party alternatives. I wasn't so thrilled with the way the silicone band that came with my watch buckled, so I bought a nylon one for $50 at the Apple Store! I saw a nearly identical looking band on Amazon for $9.88 and I'm curious to try it...
