    MSI QD-OLED Monitors 2024

Looks like another advantage vs the Asus which tftcentral said crushed everything below box 6. Maybe the slight gamma curve dip they showed on this MSI was done on purpose to avoid the crushing. Hope they add a menu in the future to allow selecting alternate gamma curves - 2.2, 2.4, etc.

    MSI QD-OLED Monitors 2024

How is the black crush? When looking at this pattern in a pitch-black room, what's the lowest numbered square you can distinguish when running in SDR? http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php

    MSI QD-OLED Monitors 2024

Agreed. Test patterns are useless as every TV and monitor manufacturer games them for years. Even the few English reviewers who claim to measure real scenes never actually show you what those real scenes are (ex. Monitors Unboxed) and/or they pick proprietary scenes that are not available to...

    MSI QD-OLED Monitors 2024

How is the dark gray uniformity on this thing? Is it as poor as every other OLED TV/monitor on the market? Rtings review (link) of the bent version of this panel on the Dell aw3225qf doesn't sound promising: "However, like any OLED, there are thin gray vertical lines in dark scenes, but you...

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

Wouldn't surprise me if it just appears randomly on Amazon at any moment the way their QD-OLED TVs did. Samsung Electronics (not the Display panel division) just doesn't appear interested in generating much pre-launch media buzz for these products.

Nice to see you here too. Looking forward to reading your results. You might be the first calibrator to post feedback since HDTVtest will take weeks for a full evaluation. When you do your "before" measurements, try with different window sizes and different menu brightness settings. One of...

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

One thing to keep an eye out for...Samsung's older OLED panels used in laptops were very unstable depending on what's on the screen and panel brightness setting. So you could get a perfect calibration with 10% windows, then change the pattern window size or adjust menu brightness setting and...

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

Oh, in that case gamma would only be available for SDR. Typically in the 2.2 - 2.4 range to properly view that SDR test pattern. Maybe someone running desktop in SDR mode can check the same pattern? Link.

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

Awesome. Thanks for checking. Yeah, Samsung's mobile (phone and laptop) OLEDs black smear like crazy on that page and crush the bottom 2-3% of the grayscale to black. LG OLEDs tend to overshoot/flash. What gamma preset are you running in the monitor menus?

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

How does this do with the Lagom monitor test page? Especially the black level and contrast test on this page. What's the lowest numbered box you can still see? When you move this page around, do you see black smearing or bright ghosting on the borders of the boxes?

    24" Widescreen CRT (FW900) From Ebay arrived,Comments.

Google search and online reviews didn't turn up anything. Should have searched this forum before posting. Thanks for the link. At least I now know my unit is not defective. Unfortunately it's happening even with a single monitor attached to the system. I opened a tech support ticket with...

    24" Widescreen CRT (FW900) From Ebay arrived,Comments.

So I recently picked up a Startech DP2VGAHD20 DP->VGA/HDMI adapter. While the VGA and HDMI outputs work fine with a couple monitors I have tried connected to my Nvidia GTX 1070, I'm having some issues with sleep/standby. Whenever Windows puts the monitor connected to the Startech into...

Sony OLED PVM 2541A TRIMASTER EL

So you're citing the same burn-in example I did - Samsung AMOLED displays used in phones and tablets. Their design and choice of materials are specifically for low-cost, low-power, low size/weight, high brightness, low-usage-hours. Their requirements force them to make compromises that a...

Sony OLED PVM 2541A TRIMASTER EL

Can you site some examples of this pervasive OLED burn-in issue? I'm only aware of the one on the AMOLED phones. Those are ~$50 screens with likely inferior materials to those in a $5K monitor. They are also subject to higher brightness requirements to deal with outdoor lighting. I guess...

Sony OLED PVM 2541A TRIMASTER EL

My point was that you don't really know it will burn-in easily unless someone has done long-term testing on this specific model. The tech is moving forward all the time I'm sure they must be making some advancements in burn-in prevention if they intend for OLED to replace LCD as the next TV...
