I'm looking at doing a TB raid config soon and I was wondering what the state of "real raid" (read SCSI) and SATA raid technology was. I know that if you want the real deal you go with 3WARE or some wacky expensive stuff. Are the highpoints and stuff like that worth a damn? I know at one point I...
When my video card tries to render anything in OpenGL or DirectX it makes this really high pitched chirping sound that sorta goes along with the hard drive, it sorta sounds like an analog interference type thing.
I do have my CDROM/Mobo/Hard Drive, and X1600 all daisy chained... is that the...
from what I've read, DVI and VGA (which I'm guessing is what this monitor is) are the same thing. I've heard there is no signal difference.
I also read, which contradicts what I just said, that there's is DVI-a(nalog), DVI-?(digital) and DVI-? which is both analog and digital.
Anyone?
I'm looking at buying this monitor and then another one to match it in a month. For $300 is this the best bang for my buck?

SATA but they don't need to be "hot swappable". I just need something to hold and cool the damn drives. I dont want to spend $150 on a drive holder. I could add 400GB to my system for $150
Yeah, I've got (3) 5.25" drive bays and I have 4 hard drives I'd like to put in there, I'm thinking about 3 stacked and one on it's side if there is enough room. Do any of you know of such a fitting?
Ok guys, it's that time of year again. Let's get this stuff going. Here's what I do know:
Get to the store no later than 5:30AM. Yes, before the doors open. Last year my room mate and I got about $700 worth of stuff for about $200. Some deals I remember:
1. 180gb hitachi drive for $69

Well, see here's my dilema. For a 4 drive raid card from 3ware it's $400. I can buy 4 drives for that much ya know. I mean I could just backup across network to some shitty computer that just sits there iwth 4 drives as backup.
Plus, RAID doesn't allow me to add drives later. I want to be...
Serial ATA drives of course. I want to know what's the most cost effective and best buy. 200GB drives or 250gb? These drives are going to be LVM (logical volumes) using 2.6 kernel. Has anyone had any experience doing this? It's going into a 3.0ghz P4-IC7+G.
Does anyone have any experience...
OK, so it's about a year and a half old. How much do you reckon this is worth? Make me an offer. Even if you dont' want to buy just mention a price for it so I can start asking around this town for buyers. It's in an Antec black case.

Brand new, never been used. I got it from work, and it retails for $230 (lowest I've seen). It's in perfect working condition. The only time it's been used is when I tested to see if it works.
Starting bids at $140... here's the pix:
