single AD domain, Windows shop, primarily still XP, but some 7 thrown in
Looking for something along those lines, but how to make a single exception to it like restrict all usb devices unless it is on an approved list
I haven't been around in a long time and am glad to see that the forum is still doing well.
I have a question for you guys...
Have any of you ever come across a way to disallow USB devices (or, specifically, flash drives) that don't meet a certain criteria? We're trying to find a way to...
Get a NAS and some backup software that will let you do mirroring (initial replication and then delta change backups)
This saves you the labor of manually replicating additions or changes yourself or having to copy the entire volume each time you want to back up.
You really just hit the nail on the head; the answer is yes, but no.
As far as the VM itself, it is nothing more than a vmdk and vmx file on your computer and has no bearing on what the host machine is doing. With that said, your networking setup is what can open the breach that you're...
Okay, then, let's use me as a case study of someone who'd be in a rough spot for a job from an employer seeking sec. clearance.
I've never had any military service, went to college, and immediately went private sector IT right away and have been working in the field since. No credit...
As I've been looking at job postings in my area, I'm seeing more and more employers asking for candidates to have security clearance. From the research that I've done, it seems that you can only start the clearance adjudicative process when it is sponsored by an employer with a connection to...
Yes, Exchange has the built in functionality of pst files, and it is atrocious.
Organizationally, I've just started using Symantec's Enterprise Vault. It is a great product, but it does require a delicate hand and a calculated approach.
Once you have a good implementation, it runs very well.
I'm looking for my user base to have a means of making available or sending large files to external recipients.
So far, I've stumbled across Accelion's product, but I'm always somewhat skeptical of a service or an application that requires Outlook plugins as a basis for its integration.
I...
[H]ey everybody,
I'm looking for a relatively low maintenance, end-user-friendly (admin-friendly is always a plus) approach to secure FTP.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
I'm not adverse to anything at this point from hosted systems to self-built servers.
Thought I'd ask here as I...
wtf... I didn't post that in this thread! I posted it in one about an access point causing headaches...
I'll leave it up, though, since it is a pretty damn funny mistake.
It can be a sign of a device with faulty shielding. I ran into an issue like this where I absolutely swear that a wireless N card's antenna was causing me problems. As soon as I plugged the antenna in, I felt extreme discomfort, a severe headache, and loss of energy. If I would unplug it, I...
...unless you split the db and have a separate front end and back end. Access does support multi-user mdb access, its just not very easy to setup and maintain.
That said, I agree with your that SE2005 is a much better solution of centrally stored mdbs.
Is this within in an internal network or out over the internet? UVNC is probably your best bet. If you do enough work on the back end, the front end for the users can be as simple as a single click (check out UVNC SC)
