Same experience here. No issues since the F31 beta bioses.
I've also noticed that this thread has become much quieter the past 2-3 months, which is also a good sign.
3900x as the common factor is probably a red herring. I run a 3950x and had the issue too.
Also, people buying high end...
I don't think you can draw that conclusion from this poll.
First off, since around November, when the F31 beta bioses came out, not many people have reported the issue in this thread, and those that did ran an older version of the bios. I last had the issue on November 6th when I was still on...
Probably not. I haven't touched RGBFusion, and there are Linux users in this thread who are reporting the same issue so I think we can rule out anything on the OS/software side.
November 6th was the last time for me, so also +2 months. No issues since I installed the F31j bios, and subsequently F31.
I should also note that I've taken up the habit of turning off the power supply via the switch at the back whenever I turn off my computer. Not sure if that does anything...
Hmm, I'd rather get my bios from gigabyte's site than from a rando's mediafire account ...
Speaking of which, gigabyte seems to have pulled the F31q beta today. F30 is now the most recent bios listed.
Your 6600k is probably the culprit.
Checkout the Gamers Nexus video with CPU benchmarks in Cyberpunk 2077:
The 8600k and 3300x both get mentions for having really bad playability ruining frametime spikes. Your 6600k is a good bit slower than both these CPUs, so I'm going to guess this is...
3950x and RX5700XT here, didn't use the Ryzen SMT hexedit patch. I'm getting 60-70fps using the medium preset and high texture quality @1440p.
Feels smooth enough for the type of game it is, but does feel like a step back performance wise compared to all the +100fps titles I've been playing.
Or you can just try it and see if it has the problem. With a bit of luck, you'll have no issues and you don't to lose money on an ebay sale. If the board does have a problem, you can always ebay it later.
As far as I can tell, the B550-XE is just a rebranded B550-E. The specs are identical, and the PCB looks exactly the same. Looking over pics, the only difference I could find was the ROG Strix branding on the integrated IO shield cover.
The XE does include a Hyper M.2 PCIe addon card to add...
