Anyone else finding that it's almost mandatory to have two settings for the monitor: one for day and one for night. At night I feel like my eyes are retinas are being burned out if I lower the brightness like crazy.
I know this isn't exactly novel, like I do this with my laptop screen...
I can't seem to replicate this but I'm wondering if it's that I don't fully understand what I'm looking for?? The text looks fine regardless of position and the linked grid image test looks "fine". I have pretty sensitive eyes so perhaps I'm missing something??

2) but you're almost certainly playing the panel lottery

As someone who has worked in competitive strategy for several big tech companies, this is 100% correct. I laugh every time I see the "intentional shortage" narrative. Trust me, no CEO wants, in an even somewhat competitive market, to explain to shareholders what's happening with the 3xxx right now.
Understandable. If you want take a more targeted approach I think the pattern for newegg has been weekly restocks on wed-friday, with a focus on wed and Thurs evenings at 6pm. It's not guaranteed but just my two cents.
Yeah I mean unless you really are doing vram heavy non gaming stuff, a 3090 is an insanely bad deal. this is nvidia segmenting the market and making crazy money off of rich people / the few who will tax deduct it for "work" :).
Are you using distill plus the newegg wishlist in the newegg mobile app (for the evga)? I'm convinced the app is faster - I never got even close to buying a card on my desktop. Mobile app was the first try (once I knew a drop was happening). Good luck!
