Oculus will now require Facebook login for social features and ad targeting

Lol remember when customers revolted due to this very concern after the Facebook buyout and they promised this would never happen! https://www.google.com/amp/s/time.com/38366/here-are-7-promises-oculus-has-made-after-getting-bought-by-facebook/%3famp=true

Used hardware prices not impacted by new launches?

Intel does not like to drop their prices. Up until Ryzen 3rd Gen, they have not had the competition to force them to either. But I was just reading an article this morning about Ryzen 3rd Gen out selling Intel 4 to 1. But I still wouldn't hold my breath on Intel dropping prices. We are not...

Help me upgrade from my Celeron

Are you ok going to a Ryzen? You could get a R3 1200 and a B450 Mb for about 140. Cheaper if you live near a microcenter. That would give you a much better upgrade path and the 1200 would crush the Celeron.

Florida Introduces "Stop Social Media Censorship Act"

I agree with most of what you said in this post. But were not talking about the government violating our 1st amendment rights. We are talking about censorship from private company's. Company's shouldn't be able to solicit your content(Make Money off it), then have immunity from it and then be...

Florida Introduces "Stop Social Media Censorship Act"

MarkVI's post is doing real harm to me, just look at the poor readers of [H] and the harassment of your post. Should all the readers have to suffer from your speech? Time to ban MarkVI....../S This is the rabbit hole this goes down with your logic. If we keep going down this road we could soon...

Florida Introduces "Stop Social Media Censorship Act"

What we need is a change to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, that requires the businesses immunity to be contingent on non-censorship. They would only be able to remove content that is illegal.

Intel Comet Lake Processors Could Pack 10 Cores

Don't worry, there is a demo incoming on how this new chip can 5.0ghz on all cores on air* (As long as the air is passing over the coils of the industrial laser water chiller)

San Francisco Uses Computer Algorithm to Dismiss 9,362 Marijuana Convictions

I would be all for making all drugs legal if drug users would stipulate to these concessions: -Drugs could only be used in your own home, no public use. - Selling drugs outside of what ever is regulated from the government his a large prison sentence starting at 25 years. - Any Crime...

    Mobile phone screen protector

I have used a lot of the SuperSheildz brand glass screen protectors from amazon. They fit great and I have had minimal issues with them and they are very economical. So even if you have an issue just pull it off and slap on a new one. Glass screen protectors defiantly feel better to me and seem...

Unable to change product key in W10 1809

Windows saves a signature of your hardware when you activate. If you reinstall with the same hardware and no major changes then when it gets internet access it will reach out and check the activation servers. If your signature matches then it will automatically activate windows. If you want to...

Tesla Launches Cheaper Cars With Software Limited Batteries

Are you being obtuse? If they had to produce a different battery that had smaller range then it would increase production costs vs just limiting range in software. Furthermore, production costs are never static. Cost of materials fluctuates, payroll changes, utilities change.

Tesla Launches Cheaper Cars With Software Limited Batteries

This is a very strange way to look at this, while I respect your opinion. It does not make logical sense to me. They produced the standard model first, they are not changing the price for it. They are just adding a new cheaper version with less range. By that same logic you would expect...

Tesla Launches Cheaper Cars With Software Limited Batteries

Has nothing to do with fanboy"ism". You are leaving out a key point, that they are going to sell the reduced range model at a reduced cost to the consumer. They are not doing away with the full range model. If a consumer makes a choice and decided they do not need the extra range and would...

Tesla Launches Cheaper Cars With Software Limited Batteries

Did you not read any other part of my post where I listed the difference in production cost for software vs manufacturing a whole new battery? If they make a new battery type that has a limited range they will incure new production costs Whereas if they software limit the range the cost would...
