E4g1e is right, if you plan on ditching cable you'll miss out on most of what cable/satellite has to offer. However, if you live close enough to a major metro area (within 60 miles) you could get an antenna and get the basic digital channels broadcast out of the city. Grabbing an ATSC/ClearQAM...- pain.angel
