Sony 2.4Ghz
1Gb Ram PC2100
Audigy
Geforce 6800 Standard
1028X768: No AA/AF
This is my frame rate after the first run that seems to be different because of loading:
44.8 VSYC OFF
39.4 VSYC ON
It's plays well until I get in a room with a lot of baddies. I think when...
Thanks, I called around to local retailers, and those I found localy on Pricewatch.com, no one has any in stock :( They say it's on backorder. It's funny though, on pricewatch it says ORDER NOW! :(
Well, they all seem to have the 2.8Ghz Processor though :(.
Guess I'll just wait to upgrade...
I have a 1Gb of RAM
I called around here to all the Fry's to see if they have the 3.06.
Most I've found is a 2.8Ghz, 1Gb Cache, 533FSB $199.
Not thinking this will be worthy of $200.
Can I use a 1Gb Chache if my current one is only 512?
I'd really like to buy it at a local store...
So your saying I need to find a 3.06Ghz "533 FSB", and it will work and my system will be stable?
If so, will I need to make any modifications?
Also, will this make a major difference in my gaming experience? I'd really like to keep this PC as I can't afford to upgrade big time; but $200...
If your saying this will work for me, I got a choice between:
Prescott: 1MB Cache 3.0 Ghz
Or Norwood: 512 Cache 3.0Ghz
What's best, and will these actually work?
Even on the website for the model that's close to mine says "The latest P4S533-E motherboard supports Socket 478 Intel® P4...
When I read up on the board it said it can only take up to a 2.6Ghz--or at least, the board will only support up to that amount.
Are you saying I can put in a 3.0 Ghz CPU and it will work?
Will the BIOS and everything handle it?
My PC is a Sony PCV-RX850
I have a "ASUSTeK P4S533VX"
Asus doesn't even have this on their website, but this model is close to it, but it's not it: http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/socket478/p4s533-e/overview.htm#
I believe my chipset is SiS 651 ...
I think I'm maxed out on my current set up. I tried overclocking to 2.6Ghz, but that made no difference really in FPS on games like Doom3. I over clocked it by changing the FBS from 133/33 to 150/?? I can't go above 2.6 because then my system becomes unstable and shuts down.
My CPU seems to...
I only have a 2.4Ghz chip that is already in a board I currently have that came with the PC.
I was thinking of replacing the MOBO because I got the Geforce 6800 Standard, and my MOBO only goes 4X AGP. Will this make a big difference if I get a new MOBO but use all the other stuff standard...
I was interested in buying the "Abit IC7-Max3 i875PE" card; however, I'm interested in investing in their next gen motherboard if/when released--is their any information out there about this?
I was reading about the specs on this board, and it didn't say it on the box; however, reading some...
I'm starting to feel like I'm going to have to update my system. I can't believe my frame rates :(
Not sure what to invest in though when I'm short on dough.
I was going to buy the 6800GT, but people told me I'd be CPU limited, so I got the $299 6800. I wanted the best for this system because, at the moment, I can't afford a new system.
So, basically, overclocking CPU is changing the FSB? I'm new to this, so I'll be asking a lot of questions.
I can't change the voltage, as there is no option to do so in my BIOS.
Is SoftFSB a good proggy for OCing?
Also, something just dawned on me. Even if I was CPU limited...
