Geez, give the man a break lol.

You can always take off the heatsink.

For testing the stability of an undervolted chip Prime v26.6 will work just fine. I usually just use the stresstest tool included in Intel XTU (used for undervolting the CPU) though. I've managed to undervolt my 7700k by -0,060 V. I was hoping for a bit more, but the system starts to crash with...

Sounds like there is indeed a small difference. I've never hit 92C+ though. I guess it's just a random spike, and probably not anything to be worried about. You could try testing with Prime v26.6 to be sure.

I think most of the FE-cooler hate is based on a history of shitty stock coolers. The vapor chamber FE-cooler that comes with the 1070 Ti/1080/1080 Ti is pretty nice. It runs silent, and easily maintains good boost-clocks in most environments.

IMO sacrificing performance for dust filters isn't worth it, when cleaning isn't an issue at all. Even if temps aren't impacted directly, i'm pretty sure it will atleast affect the GPU core-clock. Your LP53+NF-A9x14 should beat my NH-L9i by a fair bit. I only went with the NH-L9i because it was...

Just giving a little update on my build. I received the Sentry in May 2017, and put it together at the same time. So it has been running for approx. 9 months, with an uptime of 1503 hours. I decided to open it up today, to clean it for dust, since the fan on the SF600 wasn't at 0 RPM very often...

The original fan is 15mm, so the noise will still be intense even with the Noctua fan.

    DIY cables for SF450

Yes, the pinout is identical. The cable kit that Corsair is selling for the SF series is compatible with both units, which would require them to be identical. Also, i recommend checking out highflow.nl for all the supplies.

Yes, you will be able to run them at 2933MHz.

Why do you insist on using inferior cooling? Yes, the IS-VC45 is compatible with the case, but it sucks. The performance is bad, and it will be noisy because of it being 45mm high.

You should change the cooler. Even the (on paper) more powerful IS-VC45 performs a fair bit worse than the NH-L9i.

Wow. A straight out copy of the Sentry. Size, vents, button-placement, USB-placement, colors, hardware layout.. All of it. So i guess this is what the SFF community has come to. I'm sorry for being that guy, but this one is too obvious.

You should be aware that the Katana might perform awful in the Sentry. In the "Hardware Unboxed" review it hits the thermal limit of 82C in an ATX tower with absolutely perfect airflow, so it will hit 82C in the Sentry even faster and either ramp up the fan speed like crazy, or thermal throttle...
