When I got my first oled TV 4-5 years ago I also got the slightest bit of a “dizzy” feeing while watching my first movie or two. I got over it in a week or so and haven’t had it sense.
Not trying to discredit anyone but more saying give it a week or two if you haven’t in case you get used to it.
Who cares. Most of us game or watch movies on this monitor. Content such as this is either SDR rgb or HDR. Creating and converting an imagine like you describe has 0 value to me in what I use my computer for.
Right ^ who would want to look at full screen 1000 nits? The great thing about hdr is the contrast not the fact that it is bright. HDR is great because you can have a very dark area and then a very bright highlight which really makes it pop.
This discussion is dumb and has nothing to do with...
Have you seen oled before in TVs? If not it will likely blow your mind. After switching my TVs to oled I can’t stand going back to any device that isn’t. Black should be black, not grey.
I mean… do you often look in a cave and slowly look at the sun? How about caring about real world examples instead of looking for faults.
I’m playing tomb raider with 1000 hdr and haven’t noticed any ABL from you know… actually playing the game :)
Less of case when you are running in hdr which it sounds like he was doing in windows. I wouldn’t run hdr in windows if you want this monitor to last. Save it for games and movies.
When I have Microsoft teams open with dark mode this monitor sometimes flickers for 2-3 seconds. It is starting to get annoying when I use it for work. Not sure if it is an issue with my monitor or some sort of near black issue with this monitor type in general.
Yeah… you need to enable windows hdr before launching the game. Also need to adjust the hdr setting in game to about 48. Looks very nice but pretty annoying to do each time since I don’t normally run hdr on windows. It never remembers my hdr settings either so that is also annoying.
Oled tv’s have come a long way. My 2017 LG oled tv has no burnin and it’s my living room tv now… meaning my 2 & 4 year old use it and pay no attention to static content or turning it off.
I use hdr 1000 and the brightness is fine (I don’t play forza but halo is pretty amazing in 1000). Keep in mind just because a mode is brighter doesn’t mean it is better. What you are getting with 1000 is the better highlights and contrast. The thing that could make 1000 annoying is if ABL kicks...
I’ll share my thoughts
Office use - no issues with text. Gets plenty bright (I only need 50 brightness for sdr). White screens like browsers are incredibly uniform. No tinting. Still getting used to the curve but I don’t think it bothers me.
Gaming - Biggest upgrade in graphics quality you can...
Mine came yesterday. I didn’t have screen damage due to packing like others have mentioned. There was one small spot that had some sticky on it but it wiped off extremely easy.
Haven’t used it much yet, still trying to troubleshoot some issues. It was resetting to 60hz if I alt tabbed but I...
