    Aorus Xtreme Z690 PCH temp

I might have to switch motherboards because of an issue with M.2 layout and PCIE lane mapping, but curious if anyone has one of these and can share what the chipset temps on the Aorus Xtreme Z690 (non-WB version) is like? VRM temps seem to be in hand nowadays on almost all boards from what I...

    Optane acceleration compatible SSDs?

Well that's the end of Optane acceleration. Intel posted the below on their site that Optane Memory is not supported in Z690. Have confirmed the 800p and M10 SSDs that worked for acceleration on my 11th gen ZBook don't work on my Z690 desktop I built over the holiday. H10/H20 hybrid SSDs...

    Optane acceleration compatible SSDs?

Just built a new Z690 system, seems some acceleration options have been blocked which is a shame. The 800p no longer works, which is the same controller as the M10.

    Optane acceleration compatible SSDs?

Just curious about what drives work as I want to cache a big PCIe 3.0 secondary drive, and Optane drives sub 380GB are finally plausibly priced now that Intel is ending them. It seems at least the 800p storage drives can be used for acceleration and with the added size might reduce cache misses...

    samsung CF791 1440x3440 34"

Hope so! I see there is also mention of OLEDs for holiday 2016. Guess manufacturers must be making some headway on the burn-in issues.

    3440x1440 with a single 290x input

I'll defer to MistaSparkul seeing as I haven't run a single card for years and the others I know who have a single 290x have lower res screens. If you have psu capacity to spare you could add another 290x (they are pretty cheap now) otherwise some investment will be required. An alternative...

    3440x1440 with a single 290x input

What did you want to know? I had this resolution on a 290x crossfire, everything seemed fine and framerate never went under my screens 60Hz refresh rate. AFAIK the 290x's scale nicely as you increase res, they do slow down but not as much as other cards.

    Benq BL3200PT (32" 1440p)

I noticed the speakers on mine make small popping noises if I take off a particularly static prone wool jacket I have in the same room. Kinda strange as they don't pick up interference from anything else and there are no buzzing/squealing noises. Edit: Screen is set to about 25-30% brightness...

    Eizo FlexScan EV2736W

Interesting - the unit shipped to me from Eizo Australia a few weeks ago also had bad glow in the bottom left corner. Guess it's just how they come now.

Two more Eizo EV2736W arrived, one is a keeper

My Eizo EV2736W arrived a few weeks ago but it had terrible backlight bleed in the bottom left of the screen, well visible even in normal lighting/images. Would have been great apart from the bleed but I couldn't be bothered going for another gamble so ditched it in favour of a BenQ 32" VA.

    Benq BL3200PT (32" 1440p)

I have the same calibrator as TFT Central and used it on my BL3200PT (arrived yesterday). Most of the colour/brightness/gamma tweaks seem to have been made at a hardware level on the screen as it supports automatic hardware calibration adjustment. If TFT Central use the same ICC colour...

    Benq BL3200PT (32" 1440p)

I have a BenQ BL3200PT (along with a X-Rite i1Display Pro) due to arrive in a couple of days, once it gets here I'm going to compare that to a EV2736w I managed to find and keep the best one for dark colours. The EV2736w is pretty good but still does still have a touch of IPS glow. This...

Asus PA279Q - Dire IPS glow, need an alternative

The FG2421 specs are great and 1080p is a good resolution for that size. I think the drop in size would be too off putting though after using a 27" for the last couple of years. Perhaps if they release a larger size in the future I will get one with free international shipping off Amazon.

    Eizo FlexScan EV2736W

There seems to be a 2014 version floating about: EV2736W-Z Mention of it here and here. I can't really see what is difference is, the Eizo Japan site mentions a different stand but I can't get the specs tab to work in Google translate. It looks the same in pictures. AFAIK Auto EcoView...

Asus PA279Q - Dire IPS glow, need an alternative

Heh turns out the only dealer for Eizo monitors here is a photography chain and they seem to be charging $1962 ($1678USD) for a EV2736W on a 1-2 month back order. This is a tough pill to swallow given the price and availability of them in other countries - I get the feeling it would be quicker...
