Finally an update ! Yaaaaay :)
So I'm excited to share with you guys features that I've hinted at, and some I managed to sneak in over the last couple of weeks.
Protoclaus has been more than generous in allowing me to make these additional modifications and getting it to my doorstep before...
The SLI certificate is required for the nVidia drivers to enable the "SLI enable" option in the Control Panel. So you do need it. The mobo is nice and 4xxx series produces decent gains over 3xxx series CPU's, especially in SLI.
I got SLI to work on non-SLI boards using bifurcation by injecting...
I actually bought this motherboard. It does not have an SLI certificate. Also it won't fit in an NCASE M1 without mods to the power supply area, therefore it's useless. It does support 4xxx CPU's tho
Yep that bad boy works with "some" network adapters. I've tried this with an Intel NUC. What was really interesting is that for example when I got an Intel ethernet adapter and then the same exact adapter but with HP firmware, only the intel worked. Not sure why. Compatibility was hit and miss...
That adapter won't work. I've tried it about 6 months ago. Bought 2 off ebay, neither worked.
Only the Bplus tech M.2 PCIe x4 adapter will work. I think they screwed up something either with the singling or voltage.
Yep. It works exactly as it should :)
No artefacts, no funny business :)
Mind you this was no apples to apples comparison as I only have 7700k benchmarks to compare against... and I can't be bothered to set this up on an ATX X370 board ... but the performance diff is consistent.
Not at all. Don't be silly. I love feedback because it brings out the pain points in the design. Sometimes hearing it from someone else motivates me to go back to the drawing board and evaluate the options. Feedback is always welcome ! I appreciate people who take the time to make the project...
The new Asrock X370 ITX/ac works like a charm. I'm using the X370 board and amerirack riser.
Only problem is ... SLI doesn't work :( doesn't come up in the nVidia control panel :(
Its really hard for me to estimate price right now, as I'm still thinking how to bundle it (1 pcie riser, 2 pcie risers, sli cables etc ...)
The hole in the back of the case would stay there. It is hardly visible as it is the diameter of a hdmi cable and its directly under the power supply.
If...
Thank you for the reply aquelito. I'll try and do some testing on 1080ti's and some z97, z270 and x370 motherboards in the next few days with SLI. I'll report back what I find.
