Has the gaming monitor market become stagnant ?

Tech is moving, but the prices are only going up.

Do you prefer glossy monitors or monitors with AR film applied?

Glossy is definitely the better option in terms of image quality if you can control the lighting, but even in a normal room, there's only so much you can do to prevent reflections. My current BDM4065UC reflects a ton so I often have to adjust the lights and close doors and blinds to make it...

Is higher refresh rate better for the eyes? Like 120hz > 60Hz ?

LCD panels use sample and hold method for displaying the image, so there's no flicker from that like with CRT's. Using a higher refresh rate won't help your eyes tire less. Brightness settings, PWM flicker, size of the screen, viewing distance and size of the details you are focusing at will be...

    Do you Regret buying a 4K ?

I can't run any new AAA game at 4K with my 970 currently, but then again half of the games I play are older and run with perfect 60 fps. With the new games I drop down to 1440p with 40-60 fps usually and some settings toned down, which nets me the best overall experience. I could play 4K at 30...

Interesting new panels coming this year (Tftcentral news)

After hearing that OLED is finally coming to desktop I have a hard time being enthusiastic about any of these LCD panels. Maybe if I could get a better 40" 4K VA with FreeSync and maybe even 120 Hz input for a similar price as the current 60 Hz models I just might upgrade. Too bad the prices...

    Dell UP3017Q - 4K 120HZ Oled 30"

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/dell-infinityedge-oled-monitors,30854.html Tom's seems to be confirming it's running through the Type C connector with Thunderbolt 3.

    Dell UP3017Q - 4K 120HZ Oled 30"

Given that it's launching March 31st, I don't see how it could be DP 1.3, there's no supporting GPUs. The Verge had a video that said it was working through the Type C Thunderbolt connector, but I'm not sure if that was just in reference to the power connection since it can charge your laptop...

    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

Have any of you tried using ycbcr444 color format with the Philips? I felt that it might have given a slightly better result in color gradients over RGB, but could be just placebo or some other setting changing. Here's a couple videos comparing the Philips to Samsung and Iiyama panels. They're...

    OLED monitors incoming!

The source still reads like they're only having an event behind closed doors, and it's likely just for industrial purposes, like broadcasting or medical. It'll probably take several years before we see a consumer OLED monitor.

Does anyone know of a 4K TV that will do 4:4:4 and has a DP1.2 port?

Panasonic is the only model with DP afaik. There are DP 1.2 - HDMI 2.0 adapters coming soon so that's probably the best option. http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/displayport-12-to-hdmi-20-uhd-active-adapter.html I'd be careful though, I think I've heard some laptop...

    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

My first unit had a speck of dust in the middle of the monitor and a bunch of stuck sub pixels and darker corners. I got a replacement and it's perfect, no issues at all. The picture above looked pretty bad to me, I'd get a replacment.

    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

Try the TFTCentral settings, it should get you a decent image. A lot of it is up to personal preference, but what I can say is that the monitor by default has a desaturated and cold image, so at least dropping the blue channel is recommended. There's no saturation options but you can adjust it...

Should i go TN for gaming?

I wouldn't go with the old 144 Hz TN gaming panels, they're very poor in terms of image quality, and especially if you're going to be watching movies from further away. I think Samsung had some lower budget FreeSync models if you're willing to go with AMD graphics. S27E370D or S24E370D are...

Clouding/Banding on brand-new VA BenQ monitor?

Yes, the vertical stripe is something I've seen before in VA panels. I hear it's fairly common in some models. The same could go for the backlight uniformity issue. Unfortunately most consumer panels just don't have that strict of a QA process, so there's plenty of issues, especially if you go...

Clouding/Banding on brand-new VA BenQ monitor?

If it isn't angle dependent then yeah, it's a fault in the panel. I guess you could wait and see if it changes, but I doubt it. The banding can be a widespread issue with that particular model, so a replacement might still have a similar issue, but there should be a good enough chance to get a...
