    "Home" Router with "Enterprise" Features?

Since you offered a well thought out and helpful response, I'm going to clarify some points using your information. 1) I think the AX6000 will meet most of the requirements for the router/FW portion of my asks. If not, I'll likely end up going with some software defined firewall on a Guest in...

    "Home" Router with "Enterprise" Features?

Thanks for the responses everyone. Some good thoughts and, as expected, some useless accusations and banter. All part of the Internet society. I ended up ordering a TP-Link AX6000 router and two TP-Link TL-WA1201 which support 4 SSID's to VLAN mapping.

    Starlink (Generation 2) testing

I don't think you need a dish to order other things, might you might need a current account and I don't think you can get that until you pay for the dish. You don't pay for the dish until it's "ready to ship". Post back here with your results. I'd be curious.

    Starlink (Generation 2) testing

From the Starlink website... https://shop.starlink.com/products/us-consumer-ethernet-adapter-gen2 My estimated wait was 2 months, but actually got it within 2 weeks.

    "Home" Router with "Enterprise" Features?

I have been looking for a plain ol' router for my home, but with some (obviously) unique features... as such: 1) WiFi 6 2) Multiple SSIDs and the ability to map an SSID to an Ethernet port - Scenario: SSID "internal" would be mapped to eth1 and this port would be plugged into my managed...

Synology RS2818RP+ and Seagate Exos 4TB drives - Not Initializing

And for those intending to purchase and configure an additional NIC, I highly recommend it. I ordered a 4 port Intel I340-T4 NIC from Amazon and it shows up in DSM as LAN5-8. Very clean. I created two Bonds in DSM... one for the Web management VLAN using LAN1 from the LoM and LAN5 on the Intel...

Synology RS2818RP+ and Seagate Exos 4TB drives - Not Initializing

I was reluctant to do this as a first step as it is a bit of a chore to pull the array from my rack. But, agreed, that seemed like a likely client to the issue. Ahead of your suggestion, I noticed something as I was taking the screenshot posted above... the RS28218 shows a DSM version. That...

Synology RS2818RP+ and Seagate Exos 4TB drives - Not Initializing

I am replacing my aging EqualLogic PS6000E arrays with a new Synology RS2818RP+. I had some difficulties getting this new array in hand... maybe popularity or supply chain? I waited to order the hard drives until I had the array in hand and tested. I did receive the array, installed a couple...

EqualLogic: replacing disk with off-the-shelf disks?

Thanks for the offer. I'm covered on that front. I still have a Dell support account with access to firmware.

EqualLogic: replacing disk with off-the-shelf disks?

I have attempted to contact the seller MANY times... totally ignored my questions, no response. I have contacted him/them for other things and they response quickly. In fact, I have bought other things from the seller and they have actually bought things from me. I suspect they have dissected...

    PBX System Recomendations?

Like others have said, hosted PBX is the way to go, but the knowledge and experience of building an internally hosted solution can be rewarding. I have a slew (dozens) of 3com IP phones (3102 and 3502) that are from my own build-and-learn environment that can be had super cheap. I'm tired of...

EqualLogic: replacing disk with off-the-shelf disks?

That's why I don't use 4TB drives. My question is how the seller of the array on eBay is getting around the restriction.

EqualLogic: replacing disk with off-the-shelf disks?

The array actually reports the physical drives as less than 2TB. I think the number reported is based off the old style of cylinders, tracks, heads. Traditionally if one of these numbers exceeds the allocated bit count for the field, weird stuff happens. That's just my opinion though.

EqualLogic: replacing disk with off-the-shelf disks?

Has anyone purchased this array from this seller? For whatever reason he is completely ignoring my request for clarification. Are they supported drives with Dell firmware? What model drives? What changes were necessary to support 4TB drives?

EqualLogic: replacing disk with off-the-shelf disks?

Sure, they are actually the same (or similar in some cases) models of Hitachi's Dell commonly shipped with the EqualLogic arrays, just without the Dell firmware. I use Hitachi Ultrastar A7K2000 2TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" from Newegg. Something I *would* like to know... how this...
