Thanks for the feedback Guys, #1 Son confirms the LT used Windows XP and I found an ISO of SP3. He is dropping the LT off to me (sometime)
so I can see what I can do to make it boot.
OK this HD is in an older Laptop my son uses to run some old programs. He thinks it was running Windows Vista or XP.
He was trying to copy the disk and all went well until the very end and when it gave an error message and stopped.
The drive is now on my workbench, using various HD analysis...

Late night error ... purchased a W11 Home to Pro upgrade by mistake. It was a link from PC world via Stack Commerce. I know you can do Pro from the ISO with a fresh install, but I didn't want to bother. Found out the LT was Pro anyway...
So anyone want to just do the in place...
I'm not much of a gamer, so single thread / core performance is of most interest. I figured you guys upgrading to AM5 might be willing to let go a good performing AM4 CPU.
My current main use PC has a Ryzen 9 AM4 5900X and the occasional use / server a Ryzen 5 5600X, so I'd like to upgrade my...
OK -I'm and an old retired guy with V, good PC's at home, but getting involved in the local community and need a clean OK laptop to run Office 365 during meetings

Existing HW is not a good fit although overkill for a server in home network. I tried the various cheats without success (so far).
I went AMD for my last...

Put battery back and remove jumper.
Fingers crossed and it posts and starts up.
That's part of the problem I can't remember the password :(
I used to use no password - there is just 2 of us in the house. I'm just worried that if I turn the pin off it will default to a PW I don't recall.
OK I'm no expert but my W10 home network used to work fine with Homegroup. Now Homegroup is not supported each update seems to have made things more difficult.
I have a W10 PC with a lot of HD space that I use as a server, and 2 other PCs connected to that.
I recently reinstalled W10 Pro on...
