Hard to believe it's been 25 years. For many of us outside Japan, it was more like 22 or so years ago around 1990/1991 when Nintendo Power had sent out a free strategy guide for the original game, which I'm sure helped sales (well that was my main reason for buying the game). Anyway, although I...
Since the case appears to support two 92mm fans in the front area, and you're proposing to remove one that would interfere with a GPU, I would suppose it could be fine depending on your own standards for temps/noise. It looks like the power button/front panel cables are in that area and it may...
I thought the CPU socket was pretty far away from the PCI-E slot on the EVGA board compared to other ITX boards (kind of like the DFI LP from a few years back).
I agree that the Asus is the more "higher-end" board but that doesn't necessarily mean much to me given its pricetag. If the EVGA...
Some mods get featured on the front page, isn't that good enough? Bit-tech is the place to go to for the extreme mods and contests. [H] is great for information and mid-level mods most people can do with basic tools (although many people copy/paste their logs here too, which is great).
SaibotC, thanks a lot for continuing this. Like with a lot of people, PrometheusCu was one of the first worklogs that I really followed. I can't believe Jesse is gone: he was quite a inspirational and a talented modder, and even wrote some nice modding guides. I have a feeling you will do...
Unique case, looks highly collectible. It is difficult to find buyers for these custom paint job cases, but that doesn't take away from the case itself. :)
Decent looking board...full of features, black PCB, though heatsinks could have looked a bit better (not sure if this is finalized). Would be quite cool if someone decided to make some waterblocks for this board.
It seems a bit odd NCIX is also out of stock and Google Shopping isn't showing much. The R3 case is a few years old. Computex is coming up in a few days, so there may be a tiny chance a successor is in the works and is about to be announced, assuming Fractal is attending. Try e-mailing...
You've both made some really informative posts, but I hate to see what started out as a great thread get derailed by an argument like this that's turned into border-line personal attacks.
They changed their name in 2008 from Soldam to Hoshino ING during a company restructure. You also have other similar case manufacturers in Japan, like Abee (http://www.abee.co.jp), and Jigen (I think Jigen stopped fairly quickly after opening, but their site is still around...
XSPC H2 maybe. Some sites listing it at about $200 but other more well-known sites like FrozenCPU are selling it for $400-500, so not sure it really sells that low, and XSPC, while a staple in the wc'ing realm, is still relatively new to cases. I'd try to look at the 2nd hand market, as you...
