I either launch games directly through the launchers like Steam and Battlenet or I hit the Windows key and start typing the name of the game.
My desktop never shows as I always have many windows open and tiled across my monitors!
I am not too interested in one right now but by the time I buy something it should be under MSRP!

If you still want to have it with working 5.1 for your media and games you could try to make it work using the analog outputs of your sound card to each amplifier you have dedicated to whatever group of speakers.

You could always just get a spare back panel for the 540 as it will fit on both sides of the case.
I wouldn't mind a spare windowed panel to toss on the backside of my 540, especially if I do go with a custom loop, but that would mean I'd actually have to manage that side of the case!

One of the fans started making noise so I bought some "quiet" 3000rpm Noctuas as replacements.

I use a Philips BDM4065UC that runs 3840x2160 at 60hz via displayport from 2-3 feet away daily.
I use it more like having multiple monitors most of the time as I have several applications and even a windowed game or video up at one time on the screen.
