Two years after launch Windows 11 adoption is still waaaay behind Windows 10

I'm stoked by your results, I had no idea MS could ever resolve issues that cheap! A success story for the ages lol. Given the size of our organization, our acquisitional nature... I cannot imagine the gremlins hiding in our hundfeds/thousands of various client-end GPO's. To an extent I get...

9950X and 9950X3D is going to be terrific.

Interesting if true... but I'm not going to lie; the idea of dropping in a new CPU and just having it work* is certainly exciting! Personally this isn't something I've had the pleasure of doing ever (I've been all Intel until my current 7800x3D build). This would give me a clean upgrade path...

Two years after launch Windows 11 adoption is still waaaay behind Windows 10

I'm just curious, is there anyone else out there working for a company still rolling Win10 out with newly imaged machines? We've been hearing "soon" our Win11 baseline images will be available from SecOps for almost 2 years now, apparently the Intune/MECM/Win11 cocktail has just plain baffled...

Will you jump on 40xx Super Video cards or would you rather wait for 50xx series to come out?

I might be interested in the 4080S, depends on what I decide to do with the existing 3080. Selling it would offset the price of the 4080S a decent amount... Of course, we'll have to wait and see what availability looks like when they're available. I primarily want it for ARK SA. DLSS on...

NVIDIA rumored to be preparing GeForce RTX 4080/4070 SUPER cards

I'm tempted to upgrade myself... but only just tempted. I've stated multiple times here on this forum I'm voting with my wallet and sitting this round out, but ARK SA is kicking my ass on my 3080... yeah its an unoptimized pos, but I LOVE ARK. it's a tough call, I just got my dedicated server...

Intel officially announces 5'th Gen Xeons

Shoot, Server 2022 DC/Standard (for backup servers) alone for our new Nutanix Cluster was pushing at least 60k alone... and that's just what we have On-Prem! I don't want to think about our global data centers.... *shudder* To tie back to the OP, again... what HW costs... really very...

Intel officially announces 5'th Gen Xeons

Nailed it, and yes sir, the server space is very interesting right now. It's also always fun to point out the HW-cost often is a drop in the bucket compared to the software licensing you're going to be incurring running whatever program/suite you're after. No one is going to give a crap...

    Valari Gaming Pillow

After reading through this whole thread the past few days, what a ride. Quanity of obtained pillows seems to have no end, but... Comixbooks, I just have to know. What does your personal ULTIMATE Valari Gaming Pillow™ look like? The one pillow, that if made, would make you say "You know, I am...

troubleshooting lag in diablo 2 LAN game....yes the original

THRESHIN I know I'm a few days late here, but if you're looking for a GREAT OG D2 experience, you should check out r/slashdiablo on reddit. Here me out. It's a modded version of d2, repackaged, includes the required glide wrapper... and just plain works. It does require a 1.13 installer (not...

    Netflix opening physical locations

^^^ completely agree The Donut , I'm only 3-4 years into my bluray collecting, but between that, PLEX and vinyl, I love actually owning that physical copy of media and not being reliant on a subscription. You mention license changes, and I get bit by that on Spotify on occasion, and that...

Nvidia pulls in some $18.1B up from $5.93B this time last year...

As long as they go Farnsworth, I don't object: Wernstrum's don't hold a candle, I'm forced to side with the housewives on this one. Sorry, first thing that came to mind on the topic. Jokes aside... like all AI, it sounds great on paper, the technology is flaunted as flawless... until it is...

Nvidia pulls in some $18.1B up from $5.93B this time last year...

I do agree with most of your post I snipped in my quote, but the portion I quoted is my true fear. Blind trust in AI's output/its conclusion that it draws. The leap that occurs where there is no trained human involved in the decision making process prior to action being taken. Keyword being...

Forcing 16x card to 4x speed

Subject matter jokes aside (I won't make any, I've had similar requests from my Marketing dept at work), my mind immediately goes 3 places: 1) Where is your current bottleneck? Is it the NVMe write speed and your 4090 is underutilized (I'm assuming Topaz AI is CUDA accelerated?) 2) Like...
