Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

Goddamn, 30 minutes in and this dropped for my DH:

It'll be fun to start completely from scratch again with a new loot system. Maybe they'll start doing ladder seasons once the AH gets removed. That would be awesome.

I still have 900mb to go. God forsaken internet. I'm thinking about moving to a Google Fiber city lol

Check out some RoS videos on YouTube, they have some "runs" you can do to get tons of Legendaries.

That's where I am..starting from like a level 3 Demon Hunter. Haven't found anything massively cool yet, but a lot of crafting materials and a few blue items. Seems much better than before, in any case, where you'd barely even get shitty whites.

Finally got the time to patch mine, I'd been playing on the PTR though so the changes aren't all new to me.

I do recommend playing through the new system from the very start, it's so much better. I was rolling new characters on the PTR and it's worth doing.

I completely agree GamerLaft. I made hardcore and softcore heroes from scratch on PTR and thought it was immensely rewarding. I may just stash my gear and just delete my 60's just so I am forced to start over. You do get achievements for getting to 60 with 2 of the same class I believe.

If any of you want a Diablo 3 buddy to play with, add me.

I've got almost a full set of blues by lvl 1 cathedral =O

I was in whites well past this last time i played lol

I started with the starter edition because I was skeptical. Almost instantly went back and upgraded lol

Won't e long before you see your first legendaries. I had 4 drop by the time I reached Act 2 on PTR.

Did they intentionally boost the drop rates of vanilla D3 loot since it wont matter in a month?
It was raining yellows for a while, you might call it a golden shower.

Holy shit, is Diablo 3 finally worth playing again? I guess I will have to install it again.

One thing that I don't like is the huge decrease in monster density. Or am I going crazy?

What's a viable mode to choose? Is torment the one that most people are leveling in?

Thought I'd see what was up with D3. Found a Legendary Plan for Pendergrasps or something as a lvl 10 wizard. Going price is like 40mil

Ha!

This feels like what the game should have been to begin with. Not sure if it will ever quite get the bad taste out of my mouth though...

Pretty slick blizzard pretty slick.

Don't know what I like more Frozen orb or Fire Nova. The wizard rules now.

Just a friendly reminder from the neighborhood cynic:
RoS is going to be a loot pinata in comparison to D3. You will get crazy gear, very fast. (Which means you'll be maxed out faster and get bored faster). Take this in mind before shelling out money to these guys again.

You are crazy. I felt a huge boost in density from my hour or so of playing last night. Did a keeps run up through the bridge and the monster density at the ballista's were insane. Easily a hundred monsters on screen.

I played on torment 1 with my barb that was able to do MP5-6 and died a couple times due to the monster density and having a boss/elite pack in the same area. Barb definitely got nerfed hard but I think if you could do any MP previously you'll want to start on torment.

And as for getting gear crazy fast and getting maxed out, I disagree. Yes, you'll be able to get good gear quickly and it's a loot parade compared to vanilla and D2 but for people that don't want to put in >1000 hours it's fantastic. Along with that even though you'll be getting class specific gear, getting that perfect set is still going to take a while. I'll be interested to see how long it will take to get a full set of IK, let alone a good set of IK.

Big changes and I'm excited for them.

Well after reading all this I think ill have to start an new character when I get home from work later. I might hop on my barb and see how shitty he is now too. I was pretty dependant on life steal and now thats pretty much useless so I have a feeling I will have a hard time there.

I don't think my barb is shitty now but I will have to adjust my play style. I built it around life steal from rend and IK and I didn't have a lot of problems last night but I also couldn't just stand in the middle of two elite packs and tank them with life steal. I'm thinking I'll have to adjust my passives to more tank, currently ~700 all resists and 52k life and I think 65k+ life will be needed with 900+ AR if I've going to do higher levels of torment. Luckily the gear is much improved so I bet it will just take a few good drops to get me there. The legendary axe I found had 700+ strength on it so they really boosted the numbers.

Played my level 8 Monk on HC last night. Got to level 14 and found 2 uniques and about 20 rares... lol this rules!

Feel free to add me in game, Triden#1600. I'd like to start some type of community to be able to track all of us playing.

So here is how I did things before:

WW Barb (it's gone, I've accepted it and the character collects dust now) through any Act in the game because mob density was great, I wasn't falling asleep...I picked up any rings/amulets and 1 handers and legendaries/sets, salvaged everything 100% of the time.

This is how I do things now:
DH, Master difficulty, Act 3 once again because the density in other Acts is pathetic (thanks consoles, I mean no life steal?), begin to fall asleep, pick up everything except blues, salvage everything 100% of the time (in the 6 hours I've put in)

No upgrades on my ~145K dps neglected DH in 6 hours...maybe I didn't actually get patch 2.0.1

You can actually still do infinite WW, with wind shear and some shouts. But it is definitely nowhere near as good.

Goodbye Into the Fray.. you did good. :(

I've set up an in-game community under HardOCP. Please feel free to request an invite to it. Looking for some active members.

I'm starting over from scratch just because it has been so long. Probably won't be on much, pretty casual outside WoT nowadays, but I am pretty excited for RoS and the new changes they made.

I'm currently on vacation until the end of the week but I'll be on quite a bit. Feel free to add me: Business#1943 and I'll be happy to run in a group with any of my characters, though monk has been my focus for a bit now

I played for about 4 hours last night. Monk. Torment 1. Reset my quests and starting playing through from act 1 again.

I was very very impressed. I felt the loot drops were just about right. I of course replaced a bunch of gear, but the coolest thing was how I already started changing my build around the gear. I started off the same old Monk, but by the end - I was using 6 skills I NEVER used before. That right there was pretty awesome.

Oh and I got a really neat legendary amulet that turns the arcane lasers into healing beams LOL. That's the fun stuff that was missing from the game previously IMO.

It's early, but I think Kudos to the D3 expansion team are in order. Even if they missed a few marks - they didn't have much to start with =\

Let me get this straight -- that changes the enemies' arcane lasers into healing beams?

If so, that is a pretty awesome thing!

First thing I realized is my Wiz was nerfed by 30K damage. Improved Archon was nerfed to hell. Archon drains much faster than before. Reduced monster density to the point of almost pre MP levels. My Wizard now has a distinct bubble around him using Energy armor, that is freaking annoying. I can kill elites faster but takes twice as long as before to kill regular demons in hardest mode, which sucks for MP. Drops are better except for your main stat, which is the most useful. Not a real good first impression although I do like being able to adjust more points for the stats you need. Just first impressions so I'll hold off with more until playing a bit more.

Can someone tell me what do you do when you've completed the single player?

Is it just playing the same maps over and over again like an FPS or a MOBA on MP mode?

I was never a Diablo player, so I don't really know what's the fun of the game after single players.

This is what worries me. Yes loot 2.0 is a loot pinata. However, if you're going for full IK set or something, you're still at the mercy of RNG yes? Have they assigned items to loot tables yet so you can farm for specific items?

Also-Does anyone know if all these extra changes will be ported to console D3?
