I picked up 2 of the optimus elite VM phones from Best Buy for $49 each on BF and was able keep my $25 plan on both.

Not sure if it will work on this phone.. anyone?
 
This one i dont think you will be able to keep the 25 dollar plan unfortunately, I'm giving up my optimus elite for this phone because i've had too many problems with the optimus elite. The rom support and development for the elite is very poor or slow. If you stick with the elite your stuck on gingerbread for now.

I thought you lost the $25/month if you switched phones. That's one of the reasons I'm limping along with my Optimus V running ICS.

I upgraded from the Optimus V. Bought the phones, and did the swap online.. still shows $25 a month plan and next payment not due til next month on both.

I have not had any issues so far with the elite.. it has been a very nice upgrade.. same processor as the HTC one, and I don't plan on doing a root.
 
If you bought some lg optimus elite and you go to your virginmobile account on the website you can re-activate the 25 dollar plan. YMMV

I bought my elite 9/19/12, and was able to go from the 35 plan to 25 plan no problem (not grandfathered)

phone is cool for the 25 dollar plan; however, the headache it's been giving me is crazy. When I first got the phone it worked perfect but after a month, i get mad delays, sections of the screen's digitizer don't work half the time, and random reboots. hopefully, this doesn't happen to your phone.
 
Any opinions on whether this is a good upgrade from a Motorola Triumph? They have the same processor speed it seems, but the HTC has better battery life, smaller screen.

I would say it's a lot better, cause the triumph is the worst android phone they have for virgin mobile right now. Why? It's overpriced, it's not really made by motorola but by huawei and it's riddled with problems. I would go on to say that the lg optimus elite trumps the triumph. The only thing the triumph has that sounds good is the hdmi port. I think the triumph comes stock with android 2.2 too. If your not thinking about getting the HTC one V, the samsung reverb is a better solution than the motorola triumph, also has a 1.4 GHz processor in it, so should be snappier than the triumph.

Also, good thing about the HTC One V out of box it's using ICS; however, if you root and rom flash you could be running unofficial cm10 jellybean; however, few minor issues with the build currently like bluetooth and camera but i think it's still working.

The triumph is actually made from fox conn piecess. Huawei is the original brand. Motorola and samsung also have their varents. I've still got mine but Im to broke to upgrade this cyber monday.

Anywho. HTC Evo 4g or the Samsung Galaxy II are far better upgrades.
 
I have a friend at work who has the triumph on the 25 plan and he's had shitty experience with it because of antenna reception. Sure, the Evo 4g or SII are better choices if you have the money for it. But i just couldn't pass up the One V for such a low price. My brother has the kyocera rise through virgin mobile he bought it when it launched through em and he loves it.

you have to wait for a confirmation email from fatwallet, took an hour to get mine, you'll receive funds 1 month from purchase date.

i still haven't received a confirmation email from virginmobile, when i check order status it says it's still processing. Hopefully they don't cancel, that would suck
 
This is a fantastic deal on a great little phone if you must stick with Virgin Mobile...

The phone has a mostly metal brushed aluminum body, a VERY bright and colorful 800x480 3.7" screen, and runs ICS with HTC's Sense 4 UI (which is very lean compared to previous versions)... but the REAL treat is the CAMERA. The HTC One series phones simply have some of the best cameras you'll see on a cellphone and the One V certainly has the best camera you'll ever see in a $150 handset.

thanks. somehow i missed the fatwallet cb originally and had to call vm to cancel the original order. hopefully this one goes through and the cashback works.

haven't gotten the refund for the original order yet but the order is now nonexistent on vm's site.

yea, i still haven't received a confirmation email. I did call them and asked if the order went through and they said it did, it's just processing that's all.

maybe, said in the thread on FW that they might only process $5 cash back because that's how much they offer for $50 phones. depends on if they take the value pre sale price or the price you paid for it.
 
Sorry guys, I have to vent somewhere. It sucks to live in a world where GSM and CDMA are not interchangeable. I'm on PagePlus (Verizon network) and I can't get in on this for my mother who is using an old ass Blackberry Pearl Flip. I also can't get in on the LG Nexus 4 either.

But congrats to you if you got one. :)

So far I haven't seen anyone not be able to use the method above to revert back to the $25/month plan... but your mileage may vary.
 
I think the deal is deal. I no longer see the link, but I tried an old link in the FW forums. I price was full retail after entering in my credit card info.
 
Yup deal dead now, i just checked tracking and now it says it's submitted instead of processing :). I think a lot of people ordered this phone I would of thought the link on virgin mobile's website would say oos.

Yup, same boat. But im hoping this to be a lot better than the lg optimus elite which i've had so many problems with. I think they use the same processor though. But elite is stuck on gingerbread which im tired of and roms dont help. I'm really looking forward to throwing cm10 jelly bean on this.

You could enter a support ticket through fatwallet and ask what's the dealio. When I ordered mine, it was like an hour afterwards i received my email from fatwallet that i received cashback.

Their FAQ says it can take up to two weeks after the vendor has shipped the item before cashback shows up, so don't submit a ticket until before then. :rolleyes:

I'm not holding my breath.
 
Talked with customer support again asking about email confirmation and they told me that they only send out email confirmation once the phone is shipped out. Then I asked when it would be shipped out and he said that they ship out phones if the order was submitted before 3pm CST. I ordered before that; however, he said the order takes time to process it isn't until it's actually submitted through they're system that it'll then go out to ship. I ordered around 10am CST and it wasn't submitted through their system until 8pm CST. He said it would be shipped out sometime today probably. But he said as long as the status says "Submitted" on their website it means you'll get one.

My order seems to have disappeared on the VM site. I have a pdf of the receipt and the email from my bank where they charged my Visa right away after I ordered it. Somehow I have a feeling I'm going to have to waste time on a call to bitch out their support people. Just did "order look up" on the VM site and my order doesn't exist?

I've heard other people in the same boat as you, It wouldn't hurt to give customer support a call and ask what the status is if you can't track it on their website. It's just a pain in the ass to to get past all the automated options when you first call lol.

I got my FW cashback confirmation email in under 90 minutes. The funds themselves won't be available to use for another 30 days, however.


At any rate, my phone order seems intact, but it's currently marked as Pending.

I'm still on the fence of whether I'm going to keep the phone or sell it. I'm still pretty happy with my Optimus V.
 
From what i've read from other sources, if you are still currently on the 25 dollar monthly plan and you use the swap phone option on virgin mobile's website it'll still allow you to keep your 25 dollar plan. So if your getting this phone and you want to keep the plan just try it via swap on your account.

They've been processing these orders randomly some users order numerous at different times only to find out that their latest order was shipped and their earliest still pending.

Only for the phones up to the release date of the Optimus Elite (that slipped in sort of because people bought them early, before the $35 changeover).

The Elite unofficially works, anything else past that is going to require the $35 plan.
 
See i bought my elite phone 9/9 on the 35 plan then changed it over to the 25 plan 9/19 using change plan method above (never grandfathered), the change over to 35 started 7/20. So I switched to the 25 plan after the 35 plan went into effect. But from what i've read, if you use the swap phone option on vm's website it allows you to change phones to a new phone while your plan remains the same. But say you try doing it over the phone or talk with a rep (ymmv) and they make you switch over to the 35 plan. Am I wrong about the swap option on vm's website?
