Looks to me like it's the 180GB drive. The title of the order is just incorrect.

That's it. Amazon screwed up by putting "480GB" in the title of the page when they had multiple capacities of the SSD on the same page. I'm sure your order was for the default capacity, 180GB. If that is not what you want, you had better cancel your order.

yeah they sure screwed up. My ordered detailed and invoice page still says it's a 480GB
Items Ordered
1 of: Corsair Force Series GS 480GB SATA III/6G SATA 6.0 Gb-s 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive, Red (CSSD-F480GBGS-BK)
Condition: New
Sold by: Amazon.com LLC
$174.99

Well let's see what happen, if they shipped me 180gb, I'll will make a complain and return it since my invoice stated it's a 480GB model # (CSSD-F480GBGS-BK)

I would just add that .1%. It's as certain as death and taxes.

I hope you get it and if not complain about it and maybe they will relent.

I am super bummed right when I was looking for a SSD I missed the newegg Corsair GT 240GB for 164 by just a couple hours ugh.

there's some brain surgery.

Let us know if they actually give you a 480GB after complaining. My guess is just a refund.

Unless you need it quickly, just sit it out a couple of days/ a week and see what happens! You might of got yourself a bargain! :p

Just wait and see. A few years ago, Amazon was selling $150 refurbished GPS's for $10, they didn't catch it and hundreds of people on Slickdeals got them. Hell, I got 2 out of the 3 ordered. These things happen, terrible for Amazon really, it certainly doesn't make me loko good either, but hey, that's life!

I doubt it'll happen..

Amazon's product details for 180GB version, incorrect titled as 480GB:
Size: 180 GB
ASIN: B008FYEVU8
Item model number: CSSD-F180GBGS-BK

Amazon's product details for 480GB version:
Size: 480 GB
ASIN: B008FYEVO4
Item model number: CSSD-F480GBGS-BK

even though the chat rep clarified for me it's 480GB for my order,
but I have a feeling they still send me 180 GB. I don't know whatsup with amazon.

aw come on. it's still available for pre-order. How many of you guys ordered it ?

The funny part is that the 480GB version still says "Available" and "12 left in stock..."

No harm no foul. if they ship a 180GB drive you could send it back.

I bet dozens of you ordered it and just posted saying it's not going to happen.

If you look at the original post and the item model number, it is CSSD-F480GBGS-BK so it's possible that the person in the distribution will grab off of the item model number.

The CS agents still don't know about the price mistake.

RJ: Is this the item you are referring, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008FYEVU8
Me: yes. But when I select the 480GB model it shows 12 in stock
Me: and my order is for the 480GB model as shown on my invoice

RJ: Letm e check the details.
RJ: Upon reviewing your item, I could see here that it is currently unavailable.
RJ: When an item is listed as "Temporarily out of stock. Order now and we'll deliver when available," this means the item isn't ordered frequently. We can't predict exactly how long it'll take to obtain it or when we'll be able to ship it. If you place an order, we'll do our best to get the item for you, and we'll e-mail you as soon as we have more information from our suppliers. Me: The 480GB model on the webpage link you provided shows "only 12 left in stock"
Me: So which is correct? Are there 12 in stock? or is it "temporarily out of stock"?
RJ: I understand, and I 'm sorry that the stocks is currently unavailable at this time. It looks like the website details are not updated. Would you be willing to wait for the stocks to arrived?

Me: Yes I will wait. But could you please tell me why the webpage says 12 in stock?
Me: Couldn't you have the order processed now since it says there are 12 in stock? I would like the 480GB drive shipped since it says you have them in stock

RJ: The availability and shipping times listed on our website are estimates, not guarantees. Unfortunately, unexpected fluctuations in our inventory occasionally happen, and that can add time to our original availability estimate. I know it's frustrating when that happens, and I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.
Me: Ok. So the webpage inventory is not correct?
RJ: It is now correct during those time when you place your order it looks like the details where not updated. '
Me: But I just placed my order 20 mins ago. I guess I just have to wait for the system to process the order?
RJ: Thank you for trying to understand. As of this time the item is currently unavailable. Is there anything else I can do for you today?
Me: No that is all. Thank you for your time
RJ: It's my pleasure assisting you. Thank you also for your patience and time contacting Amazon, we're glad to have you here as our valued customer. If you don't have any further questions, please feel free to click "End" chat link to close this window.

The title is wrong but the Product Details and Product Description sections are accurate. Not sure what basis there is to claim you bought anything other than the 180 GB you have to select before making a purchase.

The Product Details clearly specify the item model number.

It's clearly a mistake, and since they have the correctly listed item in stock and the item you ordered isn't, it's just an bogus listing that hasn't been deleted yet. Either way, all inventory shipped and new stock received will be allocated to the correct listing, and your order will sit unfulfilled until it eventually gets canceled.

Right. At first there was an uncertainty whether the warehouse pickers might use the title rather than the details information to pick the product and ship it. But that is ruled out since his order has not shipped, and the 480GB SSDs are listed as in stock, but the 180GB SSDs are listed as out of stock. Clearly they are NOT going to pick the 480GB SSDs out of their warehouse to fulfill his order.

This is exactly what I thought.
I tried get straighten things out by chat with the represatative .
If it's 180gb, I would cancel. If 480gb, great it's one heck of a bargain.
But the represative clarified to me it's the 480 gb for my order.
This is crazy .

The tech support person was obviously just reading the title, which has already been pointed out multiple times in this thread to be obviously an error.

I don't think you have much chance of receiving a 480GB drive. I'd just cancel the order if it were me.

I'm taking my chances and holding out. If they ship a 180GB drive I will return it at their expense because it doesn't match the product number for the 480GB drive on my invoice. Either way Amazon pays return shipping and I'm out nothing.

The only model number on my invoice is: CSSD-F480GBGS-BK
This matches the product name of 480GB. It's worth the zero risk in my opinion. Oh well.

I'll be laughing if a few of us get these 480GB drives for $180.

+1. Even with tax in TX  this is a potential steal ... worth the try at least.

I did see that, I just doubt that they pick items based on the item description.

Hopefully they get the 180GB drives in stock and ship one to me. :D

I will have them do an RMA and get me the proper model number. Amazon pays return shipping.

omg... I really want to order this drive, but I don't want them to send me the 180gb edition!!! I'll just see what happens to you guys who ordered it first... if they sent you the 480gb, PLEASE POST!!! thank you!

Is the American economy really in a state where we can waste money on stupid games like this?

If it was your business you wouldn't want to be treated with anything other than respect, right?

If they do, just send it back, their expense. Literally no risk here. Dunno why folks are so worried about getting a 180 ...

I don't know, I think you're going to get lucky. I'd say they're going to go by the model number when filling your order, or even the item description, both of which in your invoice match the 480GB.

I just checked amazon, and the "mistake" is still up there. I will be ordering it tomorrow when I get paid. :D

You're not paying attention. If they were going to ship him a 480GB SSD, they would have already, since it shows 12 in stock. They are obviously waiting on the 180GB SSD to come in stock to ship it to him. Their internal data must be correct. It is only the title (which was copied to the invoice) that is incorrect.

And it will be hilarious if it's actually a 480GB SSD :D

1st saw this morning and ordered, we'll see what happens. Last price mistake they corrected & cancelled my order, but so far so good on this one.

My vote still stands. :p

They only send the order to the warehouse if the ASIN shows stock. The system uses ASIN to track the items. It's highly unlikely that we will get 480GB drives.

But, we could have mail fraud on our hands here because they shipped us the wrong item.

Either way, Amazon will pay return shipping.
