^^ looks like PC60 is a perfect fit there ;). What happened to the flip-up piece of the keyboard tray? (the hole that it left kinda detracts from the picture)

It does fit perfectly, length, width and height are like that desk was MADE for it. But my Noctua cooler is pushing air flow far greater than the 80mm exhaust fan can keep up with. Unless I crank it but then it sounds like a jet engine in there.

Now I have a new case it will free up the Lian-Li for a simple but functional case mod, opening out that exhast space to fit a 120mm there, and then I'll probably have it fitted back in again once it's ready.

The keyboard tray is just like that, that photo is taken from a little lower down than you would typically be, so you don't see the blocks of wood on either side, what they do is stop the try from sliding out all the way and falling. It's just the wooden desk's design, it's completly unmodified.

Your setup is so peaceful and just congenial, though I don't like that glaring case on top of that beautiful desk! Would you mind posting some full-room pictures since your room at least used to look pretty comfy ;)

That painted black would be perfection

Haha thanks, I'm waiting on the 650D though. I'll get another pic in a second. I've just done oiling the worktop.

That desk never ceases to amaze me! :D Great work on it, and you have so much space ... I'm jealous! :D

(i'm trying to write this, but my anti-virus keeps telling me that Hard|Forums is infested with trojans...)

Do you ever hit your case with the weights when you're working out? I have a feeling I'd DESTROY my case if it were that close to a bench set lol.

Otherwise, looks nice. Good job.

nice! I think putting the tower on the floor would make a big difference, though...there's a lot of desk space that's going unused.

The only reason I don't put it on the floor is because its carpet and I'm scared of dust. It was on the floor for awhile before I got this desk it was kind of dusty. Ideally I would like stand or something.

Kind of a side note but; I'm not a fan of my transparent glass either. Would it look sorta cool or dumb if I put something underneath the glass so it wasn't transparent? What I have in mind is dark paper or even something that has a cool design on it. That was a can still have a clean glass top desk but its not see through.

I've seen people use tinting kits on their case windows, then cut out a small pattern and shine lights through. I always liked that effect. Or just get a different case; that is what I ended up doing.

I'd be a little more worried about some plates on the right slipping off and down onto my head while sleeping. :p

That's why I sleep the other way :D Haven't hit anything yet, so fingers crossed I don't.

@the337: Sort of, I bought a normal worktop and cut it to size/cable management and fitted it to the wall etc.

How do you like that Saitek Eclipse Litetouch keyboard? I thought about buying one but haven't seen any reviews.

It took me forever to relearn typing on this thing. I've had it for over 2 months and I still mess up. I went from a Logitech G15 to a Logitech Dinovo and only spent maybe...1 week of occasional typos. This thing was a disaster though.

I bought this keyboard because I needed back lighting + low profile keys. The key press feels excellent, that's one positive note. The F keys aren't separated (again, sigh) so if you're an avid F5 or Print Screen presser, you're gonna have to take a quick glance at the keyboard to see where you are at. I haven't had any issues with phantom key blocking thankfully (on my dinovo I did) so my gaming experiences has been rather decent. The placement of Left Ctrl is terrible though. They snuck in an extra key (a "lock" key for the OSD) and I find my pinky always missing control because of it.

The OSD itself is ok. It's not as gimmicky as I thought it would be. If you're a fast numpad typer though, I'd reconsider buying this keyboard as the numpad is purely touch screen. I mainly use the OSD for quick links to websites and files on my computer. It has 3 separate screens so there's a lot of custom hotkeys you can set.

Would I say it's an improvement over my dinovo? No. It's a side-grade at best. The key positioning is just so flawed that it ruins my typing experience. I hold a very high average WPM and I find this keyboard just keeps holding me back from efficient typing. Other than ALL these complaints, it's pretty decent. Like I said, I just wanted a back lit, low profile keyboard, and that's what it accomplished.

Homebuilt desk, just finished it this weekend, still have a few things, going to make a lower shelf for the server to site on, and more cable management

Nah. Damaging your computer is much more serious than simple blunt force head trauma. Come on man, you gotta get your priorities straight! :p

been planning this since last october or november. can't remember. total for all the desks was $375. the only thing i did not buy on craigslist was 3 more t-legs from ikea. i drove to maryland for the first half, then to woodbridge for the capita legs and jarpen shelf, norfolk for the other half of the desk, then back to woodbridge for the t-legs and one quarter circle end piece. i decided to not go with the half circle end pieces.

i even had enough parts to make an extra 44 inch x 24 inch galant desk (not counting the half circle end pieces). no room left though so i will store it. i am considering this painting to round out my room with the pictures i will put up so tell me your thoughts on this. http://imgur.com/xMAEp.jpg

i also plan on taking a shot with my 2 laptops on the desk. kinda forgot :p. also will put my speed limit sign up :)

i am by no means finished. i plan on putting some clothes on that shelf by the door or removing completely at some point. in the meantime the boxes will go in the closet and the futon will be pushed against the door.

i am happy to have a charging area for misc small things like cell phone and mp3 player, a spot for both laptops, and an area to sit cases on to work computers withou affecting me doing other things like being online or on the laptops.

i was inspired by Lotheron . thanks agan :).

Wow!

Matrix, I like the setup too. Were you just lucky with the width of this configuration w.r.t. the width of the room or is the center piece somehow made to size? Anyway, it looks like you're all set as far as the deskspace goes for the next couple of years.

Special note from Virginia Department of Transportation: please bring that traffic light back :D

the desk fit based on measurements. i would have liked a second middle piece but as you can tel that was impossible ;) :p. desk is the galant and modular in nature :)

ps some DOT wants that light back but its not virginia :p :D

Setup for the remainder of xmas break.
Working on making an xbox case into a HTPC case with a micro atx board and sff psu.

My new space at work...I lost the window, but now I'm in the same hallway as my entire team. Considering what I do, that is WAY more important than a window (never thought I'd say that, hah!) Still need to hang my posters and such, but this is pretty much it:

Very work-friendly! It's a great workspace.

Finally got my 2011 setup done - was waiting on the case and SB parts to finish everything out. Specs in sig.

Beautiful setup, Yenniedn!!

I'm thinking about that case for an SB build. Just wish its power button was on the front.

Yenniedn, don't you want to do something about the risk of the case being accidentally tipped off the edge of the table? Also, what is that very interestingly looking chair? Thanks.

Thank you, Mr.W!

Due to the setup of my work area, I've tried three different locations for the case: there, under the desk and on the ledge to the left of the TV. Left of the TV was inconvenient because it's hard to get to the case and under the desk works but cooling suffers, dust dramatically increases and it's just a shame to leave this beautiful case under a desk. This location works best because it's actually hard to run the DVI cables around these LCD's so it limits the distance I can move the CPU from them.

It would take a pretty big bump to knock it off the table . . . however, I am in Cali so I'm only a moderate earthquake away from disaster!

The chair is a Herman Miller Embody - it's hands down the BEST money I've ever spent on anything related to my office/play things. I'm a golfer with a bad back that spends about 8-10 hours/day sitting in front of my computer and I don't think I've had any pain since I bought it. Well worth every penny - and it's the only thing shown in the phtos that I know that I won't upgrade from anytime soon!

Some great setups out there, these threads always make me want to spend money.

Here is my current setup-

Just wondering if you have you checked out Monoprice.com? I bought 3 - 15 foot DVI cables from them for my triple setup and they are thin enough to let you run them almost anywhere. :D
