@cory29 - How do you like the Mako's? I was very unhappy with them and returned them the same day I bought them. Maybe I got a bad set, but the bass was very lacking, and mids were extremely muddied. This was in comparison to my Z-5500's.
Old Setup circa 2005 - 2008:
Syntax Olevia LT27HVX LCD HDTV 720P @ 1280x720@60Hz. I know the speakers are crappy powered Bose Companions, but they were free to me and my old, old Pioneer receiver was broken at the time of the photo.
2008 - Now
Samsung LN40A500 1080P LCD HDTV @ 1920x1080@60Hz; 2 Dell 2209WAs at 1050x1680@60Hz; 2 Energy C-100 Speakers(I odn't need loud here, the 4 big C-8s are in the next room
) powered by an older Marantz SR4002 Receiver.

It's a lot sturdier than I was expecting for $18. Though I had to add 2 washers to the thumb screws, because it wouldn't stay up.
I thought I was the only one who lit the wall behind my display still!

Oh cc2096, your comparing them to Logitech Z-5500?! Lol, ofc those Logitechs are better than the Mako's! There is no comparison at all, those Z-5500's are definitely more superior than the Mako's. I believe those Z-5500's are 5.1? Yeah thats a completely different level compared to a 2.1 setup
How do I like them? Well yeah, I really like them.
The +'s in getting these speakers are for its modern and sleek looks, while its low-profile designs gives you a clean and non-clustered desk as it forces you to give the speakers a 6inch radius of free space so it could function correctly and properly.(I'm claustrophobic).
I had some Logitech G51's (5.1) and man, I hate seeing all these wires stretching from here to there. It makes my desk look so messy with so many speakers and wires, while the speakers are tall and ugly themselves.
As for the sound quality, all that down-fire sound and omnidirectional blah blah blah, is all bull$^&% and marketing. I won't lie, the sound that these babies produce is definitely good and pure. But it sounds like your everyday regular speakers. The only time when these babies really shine is gaming! Oh Yeah, Gaming with these Mako babies are so beautifully orchestrated, you will "SEE sounds!!" It will definitely take your gaming experience to a whole new level, i guarantee you that. Why? because these babies are made for gaming, cmon! its Razer. The sound is definitely crisp, yeah, I give Razer that, but the problem is, its TOO crisp. As a trade-off for being too crisp, I guess the big subwoofer is missing that power or that *OOMF* to music, iono maybe its just me. But basically, in the music department, they are still good, but compared to other speakers that are made for music, like BOSE, and Swan (I see them as music) or w/e, these Mako's will sound like $^&%. But like I said, its Razer, they are made for gaming, not music.
k, im done, i think i typed too much.
*edit, one important thing, i DO NOT regret buying these! I love these speakers, it has it flaws, but hey! whats perfect?

Ok, I'm still awaiting the sub, surrounds and figuring out a new desk... but you get the idea:
I'm looking at buying a house, so the new desk may wait until I know what kind of room all this is going to go in. I'm looking forward to being able to slide the rack underneath the desk and out of the way. This desk is too shallow for that.

you have some amazing equipment there...
why, though? why wouldn't you take all the home theater gear and use it in a home theater environment. sell a monitor or two and pick yourself up a big HDTV... all that stuff will look great wrapped around a pionooer elite plasma.

This basically is my HT. Of course I've been renting a basement and this was all the room I had to work with. If I do buy a house that would change everything. I'd love an Elite Kuro so that is always a possibility. Until then Mass Effect sure does thump.

It's an Ikea Frederik I believe. I know for sure it's not the Galant as the legs are not adjustable and the frame is different. I added the top shelf though. When I bought it it was just the legs and the tabletop.

No couch, but there are two other office chairs, lol. I have another desk next to this with two more computers my daughters use. I'll save the couch for the real HT.
Divorced and not interested until I get back into my own place. Otherwise I'm sure they'd run screaming from the sheer nerdom of it all.
Actually the few ladies I have had over were old friends and simply laughed in recognition of a trait they were already familiar with.I used to sell/install B&W, Klipsch and Martin Logan actually. However this is my first experience with Axiom. This set is still undergoing the break-in process, so I will be able to answer that question more accurately in the coming weeks.
Yeah he is a mini Schnauzer, I spoil him every chance I get. Sorry for your loss, they are adorable. I hope you go down to the pound and see if there is one calling for you.

Yeah, I was planning on using a 3.5 - 2RCA jack to use the TV speakers but I couldn't get the audio to the same channel I'm using with the PC.
Sorry for the unfortunate experience of the TV speakers.
And yes it is, I'm using Logitech's 2.1 X-230 speakers.
