I'm looking at the chenbro sas expander ck13601 as an option to expand my current storage system. Right now i have a system with these specs:
SUPERMICRO MBD-X7SBE motherboard
Intel core2quad Q9550 CPU
8 gb ddr2 800 ECC memory
3 AOC-SAT2-MV8 sata controllers (2 on 133Mhz bus 1 on 100 Mhz bus)
20 1tb seagate 7200.12 drives
1 1tb seagate 7200.11 drive
3 64 gb kingston ssd's
norco RPC-4020 case
I'm running OpenSolaris mirrored rootpool on 2 of the 64 gb ssd's, 3 raidz2 vdevs (7/7/6) and 1 hot spare (the 7200.11 drive)
I'm looking to take a norco 4220 and fill it with drives connected via the san expander.
I'm wondering if the chenbro sas expander works LSI 1068e chipset based cards, specifically the AOC-USAS-L4I
I'd like to look at filling this new case with 2 TB drives (or replacing the current 1tb drives i have with 2tb drives and moving them to the new case, either way)
Thanks for any help.
