Patriot 2TB SATA SSD $78 on amazon

Great to see 2tb dropping. I still have a sealed one I bought for $135 in April of 22. :(

Because it shows "Ships from Amazon"
He's referring to the delivery date 30 days from now. Not prime at all, even if free.

I'm a Prime member so I put it in my cart and went to checkout. I don't think that date is an error. (n)

When you see a date that far out it usually means the item is out of stock and that's the estimated time they'll be back in stock. Sometimes the item will come back in stock sooner since that's just an estimate.

Usually it comes back in very quickly.
Yeah, during the major PSU shortage a while back my son ordered a Season Gold GX750 to replace his 650. It was a really good price on Amazon but out of stock and showed it could be a month before it shipped. I think it shipped within a week.

Ordered 1. Delivery date is now showing 1/27 - 1/28. I'll be surprised if it doesn't arrive sooner.

Edit - Now 1/23 - 1/25

2nd Edit: Shiiped, now arriving 1/17

I assume these are QLC?

edit: Yep, and no DRAM (despite the amazon answer it seems). Still damned good pricing!

Bumping because this drive took a dump in my son's desktop. It started with abysmal read/write speeds in the tens of MBs, slower than any HDD or SD card. Then it outright died and cannot be initialized in Disk Manager.

Hoping Patriot's 3 year warranty is worth a damn. Anyone else have any issues with these?

Yep. New one on the way as we speak as they are piles of absolute shit.
Once I get the replacement I'm selling it. Fuck using it

I was hoping they'd send a different/better model. It was just for Steam games on my son's PC, so no big loss. It's nice they have a 3 year warranty at least, so if the new one dies again in the next year or so it's still covered as well.

I moved away from 2.5 SSDs now.
Have a 512gb boot NVMe and a 4tb storage NVMe now and thats it
I nearly lost stuff on that Patriot drive. Took over a day to copy 1.3TB of data off it

Where are the nvme deals? Sata has its place, but I don’t know that’s it’s in high capacity slower ssd’s

Best deals I have got recently was surplus/used enterprise NVME. 3.2 TB on PCIE was $130 a couple months ago. Prices trending down as it seems older enterprise NVME life cycle changes are occuring. Everything I have has enough life for a decade or more at my usage.

Yea those are what I’m hoping continue to become available.
