I have my decked out thinkpad w540 with the rare IPS matte 3k resolution screen 2880x1620 resolution. Actually like this better than the glossy 4k screen on my Dell. Maxed out the ram with 32gb of ram, cpu is the slightly faster quad core 4800mq, K1100m still under 3 year onsite warranty with the upgraded accidental protection warranty. Will update with pics. Warranty runs til 2017 if you pick up I'll make you a better deal.

$1100 in perfect condition, only a little wear on the trackpad.

1TB Samsung EVO 850 mSATA drive. Powered on twice, like new. $285

Things I want are 1 x 16gb ECC RAM (want 2 or 4 of these dimms) for my gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Vmware ESX server. 4tb drives for my freenas server

EDIT: Thanks Chas for reminding me to put the exact model of my mobo, according to this http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1698299 my mobo should take ECC and I'm hoping 16gb chips will work.

Which PARTICULAR FXA?

There's several:

990FXA-D3
990FXA-UD3 R5
990FXA-UD3
990FXA-UD5 R5
990FXA-UD5
990FXA-UD7

Just asking because I figured you'd rather not have someone fork over a DIMM (in good faith) that won't work for you.

Looking at the UD3 and the UD3 R5. The UD3 R5 on Crucial doesn't even allow for ECC.
And, the UD3 maxes at 32GB, but the kits only go up to 2x8GB / 4x8GB.

Not sure a 16GB stick will work.

Bump. Thanks for researching Chas, I also wouldn't think a non enterprise mobo would take 16gb ECC but I think someone confirmed they got it boot.

bump for pics, also can you swap in a normal 2.5" sata ssd? How about two? Is there a display port out ?

updated with pics, you can put in an m.2 ssd and a 2.5 inch SSD. Also option for a 3rd ssd if you put one in with a drive caddy in the dvd rw slot if you don't use a dvd.

I misread the price as $100, and you almost got paypaled before I finished reading the sentence. Bump for a great seller and a still-good deal on a nice laptop. GLWS

Bump for a cool guy and an awesome deal on that laptop - not many out there that have high res screen and 32gb of ram!

Thanks bump, someone from another forum said 256gb was too small so I put in a 512gb old trusty SSD in there since I've upgraded to a 2tb SSD. It now has 512gb SSD and 32gb, also comes with a spare regular 500gb drive that can be used in the DVD bay (if you can the tray adapter which runs about $10 on ebay or amazon).
